    >>>>>> 2021 TR to PR Pathway AOR & Timelines <<<<<< Join here

BEWARE!!! You are probably confusing the PR portal with the website you used for applying for PR. Although it is possible to apply for PR from the portal, it is not recommended to do so. You normally apply from a different IRCC website. The PR Portal has several tabs at the top, you use the...

Principal Applicant (Inland) Dependent (Outland) during COVID-19

Is it the portal declaration? If so, it usually stays as "in review" long after you actually receive your eCoPR and even your PR card.

Did you make an address update through a web form? If your address is still the Quebec one in your file, they might have overlooked the uploaded files.

I think it is generally eCoPR for inland and PPR (or PR visa) for the outland applicants/dependents, although maybe they can be giving away eCoPR for outland dependents with a passport from a visa-exempt country.

Principal Applicant (Inland) Dependent (Outland) during COVID-19

How did you proceed afterwards? I am in a similar situation. I had already received my PR as the Principal Applicant. My spouse received two emails with a new application number. I was wondering which of the following I should do: - Wait for an email to be sent to me as the PA in the original...

What happens if I fail a G road test after getting G1?

It is okay as long as you do not get caught! :p The problem is that as soon as you have your G1 license, you are not supposed to retain another (your foreign) license. So it is a very funny thing that by law, you can rent and drive a car within your first 60 days in Ontario but as soon as you...

What happens if I fail a G road test after getting G1?

"When you move to Ontario, you can use a valid licence from another province, state or country for 60 days. After 60 days, you need to switch to an Ontario driver’s licence." (see: https://www.ontario.ca/page/exchange-out-province-drivers-licence) "'A driver may not apply for, secure or retain...

What happens if I fail a G road test after getting G1?

Good point, I should have said "Ontario does not allow" instead of "Canada". As you said, G License is an Ontario thing. Every province uses its own ways of naming or classifying different licenses (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driver's_licences_in_Canada). Regarding the taking of your...

I got my eCoPR inland in April and still waiting to this day for the PPR for my outland wife.

Principal Applicant (Inland) Dependent (Outland) during COVID-19

I am in a similar situation on the other side of the table. I have received my eCoPR inland in April and my PR Card soon afterwards. But to this day, I am still waiting for the PPR for my outland wife.

What happens if I fail a G road test after getting G1?

In that case, although there is much to list, here are some unlikely things that I noticed that did not make much sense to me (try at your own risk): Instructors always recommend driving at the exact speed limit! For a 50-km/h road, I would assume driving at 40 km/h would have been fine, but...

What happens if I fail a G road test after getting G1?

I am happy that it helps. Here are my comments: If you DOCUMENT your 2+ years of driving experience, you can take either of the G2 and G tests. By DOCUMENTING, I mean that they might ask for some extra documents on top of your current foreign license. In my case, I had to get a paper from my...

What happens if I fail a G road test after getting G1?

For people who look into this thread in the future, it turns out that if you pass the G2 test (even after failing the G test), you can directly try the G test afterwards, provided that you do have 2+ years of driving experience that you can prove by documentation.

Should I appear for G or G2 road test?

To inform other who might stumble on this thread, as @Khabz mentions, there is a problem in terms of naming the test. What Ontario web site means by the terms G1 and G2 driving tests are actually G1-exit and G2-exit driving tests, and they are referred to as G2 and G driving tests, respectively...

Should I appear for G or G2 road test?

Thank you, that was very helpful. I will contact drivetest.ca, and possibly leave a note for Ontario.ca to urge them correct (or clarify) the wording on their website.

Should I appear for G or G2 road test?

That is the part that was confusing. Ontario.ca mentions G1 and G2 road tests, whereas DriveTest.ca books for G and G2 tests. I will probably call to make sure of this but what you say suggests that Ontario.ca refers to the tests by your current license and DriveTest.ca refers to the tests by...

Should I appear for G or G2 road test?

For #1 yes, but it is not 3 months. You can drive for 60 days. "New residents: When you move to Ontario, you can use a valid licence from another province, state or country for 60 days. After 60 days, you need to switch to an Ontario driver’s licence." See...

Should I appear for G or G2 road test?

According to Ontario website (https://www.ontario.ca/page/exchange-out-province-drivers-licence#section-4), for people with full foreign licenses, 2+ years of experience, and no exchange conditions, "After you pass the written and eye tests, you need to take one road test (G2 road test). You can...

I was told that being in Quebec might raise questions with the officer reviewing the file and cause problems in the application. So, I added a letter of intent to my application, explaining when and why I plan to move and why I have not moved yet. I moved from Montreal to Toronto late December...

Does anybody have any idea how long the address-photo review may take in the PR Portal? I see that most reviews are quickly completed the next day but there are also those that lasted from 2 weeks to several months. I am waiting for a review for about 10 days now. Is there anything I can do or...
