An update from me: LPP was completed on August 23, 2023. The full citizenship application journey is in the signature. I was also advised that I will have to wait for approximately 4 months from LPP completion to get an oath ceremony invite. Somebody, please update the tracking sheet.

Yeah, it is ridiculous. It is also ridiculous that they need 4 months just to schedule an oath ceremony. What a slow and inefficient system!

Your examples are too extreme. If a person with an MSc in Biochemistry from Leeds works as a cleaner in Toronto, this says more about that person, not the system.

None of this applies to me. I think they use the "non-routine" designation to shirk responsibility for failing to process some applications on time.

Yep. My application has also been categorized as "non-routine". The idea behind my post was just to alert applicants about the "normal" processing time being exceeded.

If you are like me and still waiting on the IRCC to grant you citizenship after submitting your application in October 2021, note that the IRCC has now exceeded the 19-months processing period that they promise on the website. It has now been 20 months since October 2021.

Where did you get that idea? Ottawa CPC has always been super slow.

30 days is the declared ideal. In reality, it is almost never 30 days. I waited for my ATIP notes for 7 months. And, yes, there is no correspondence during the process, and they do not respond to follow-up emails.

The update you got today was not really an "update" in your application. It was a system update that automatically "updated" all applications (while nothing really happened to most of them).

Just for general interest: I had a call with IRCC today and got nothing more than the information already available on tracker. The message the agent gave me was that the processing timeline was 23 months, and that there was nothing I could do to get them to finalize my application before 23...

You are a bit wrong here: Family Day is not an official national holiday. Only a handful of provinces mark the day. So, the federal government (of which IRCC is part) was working on Monday.
