You should apply it less than 4 months prior to expiration. If you apply after expiration, you need to apply along with a status restoration. It is most likely that BOWP can’t be done at border or outside of Canada. I am not 100% sure.

I suppose BOWP should be simpler if you don’t have any specific conditions.

It seems your company is going to apply for a lmia which is more complicated than a BOWP.

You are free to try, but usually you will only receive an automatic reply if your application is not having a final decision. Actually, to call the hotline would be helpful to know what stage your case is in.

Have you applied for a note to update the application status? If it is almost done, you don’t need to have another application.

Me. Stuck in security check.

I was tagged RR on Oct 28 and passed on Feb 14. AOR September 03. Unfortunately, I am still stuck in Security check since November.

aor September 3 too. My case is stuck at Security check for 4 months according to the CBSA note. All other things are passed only security left. I suppose I am in deep screening due to previous gov post. Hope it can be cleared soon.

I hit the 6-month line today but no update. Even no GCMS note comes for over 2months.

According to CIC news as of Feb 1, there were 15,000something CEC cases in processing. They had completed about 9,500 during Dec 15 - Feb 1. We can predict the CEC backlog will be cleared in roughly 70 days if they keep the same pace as in Dec and Jan. To be optimistic, we can expect our days...

It works only if all passed. I tried twice but only automatic reply.
