If i recall correctly the instructions when using the physical presence calculator says, if there are other countries involved in the trip you can place the names of these countries in the Reason section. This is what I have done for my trips where I was in-transit

Hi POS fam, My wife has received her PP today stamped with a one time entry visa along with her COPR.

Got some news, My wife's fedex tracking for her passport just went live. It was picked up this morning. ECAS still says in process, I suspect it will change sometime this week to decision made. POS had received her PP on March 25th so almost 3 weeks in total.

Yes most times you will get another email (some people get a letter) from POS saying they have received your application for permanent residence, you will get another UCI number for that application which can also be used to check ECAS

An alternative route would be to book a flight for your husband to trinidad and then he can take a direct flight from trinidad to toronto

As long as they have a valid US visitors visa to fly through the USA then it is fine.

thanks kunals!! cecbear is right in his answers and i aslo agree that you shouldn't ask your friend to do this. he can wait on canadian side for you to return. I wasn't asked for anything other than my passport, proof of address, my work permit and the cpr from cic ottawa. no bank statements
