First travel to US on Canadian passport - sent to secondary inspection

The person in that article is a Canadian citizen. I guess if you refuse a strip search you are detained indefinitely but can't be refused entry as a citizen. The woman detained was only let go once she decided to agree to the strip search after being placed on detention for over 14 hours.

Anyone from Montreal got online test invite and/or oath ceremony

You'll have to update your address with the clerk during the registration process (you'll be asked if your address has changed since you applied), you'll also have to include your new address in the email when you email back the signed oath form - you'll be given instructions on this at the end...

Anyone from Montreal got online test invite and/or oath ceremony

Mine took around 2.5 hours, from 9:00am until 11:30a.m. I think it was because we were a rather large group (134 people) so it took longer to validate the IDs and addresses of each person.

Anyone from Montreal got online test invite and/or oath ceremony

You'll be taking the oath with everyone as a group at the same time, not separately. The only time you'll be one-on-one with an official is when your ID and address are validated by a clerk, this is also when you'll be cutting up your PR card. During the oath ceremony itself there are clerks who...

    November 2020 - Citizenship Application

I don't think any in-person ceremonies are being held at the moment, especially with Omicron raging through Canada but families and friends should be able to attend both. For the online ceremony they have to be on the same device preferably, lots of people during my ceremony had family and...

    Best immigration Lawer

I had replied earlier but accidentally deleted the post while trying to edit it. I'm reposting the list again from a past thread (Lorne Waldman seems to be a good one): https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/posts/3660812/

Anyone from Montreal got online test invite and/or oath ceremony

It's cic-citoy-convo@cic.gc.ca but they won't answer if it's not pertaining to your signed oath document or why you couldn't attend your oath ceremony: This mailbox should ONLY be used to provide documentation related to a virtual ceremony or to provide a reasonable explanation (with...

Anyone from Montreal got online test invite and/or oath ceremony

They don't send any acknowledgement. But if the agent (the one who verified you at the oath ceremony and whose name you put in the subject line when you emailed back the signed oath) hasn't started working on it yet your online tracker will still show Application In Process and Citizenship Oath...

    November 2020 - Citizenship Application

Just took oath this morning, the whole process lasted 2 1/2 hours. We were told to allow up to 6 weeks to receive the citizenship certificate by mail. There were 134 people in total, all from Quebec. Best of luck to everyone here and wishing you all receive your oath invites soon!

    waiting for oath ceremony email/invitation

Yes it would seem that the date shown on your tracker is not guaranteed until you actually receive the invite email. My date has been the same - my tracker only updated to Scheduled for Oath last week with Dec 20 as my oath date and since I received the invite today I can assume that it won't...

    waiting for oath ceremony email/invitation

You need to keep listening to the automated messages to get to the options. Do not hang up when it tells you to disconnect to allow agents to respond to priority inquiries only. I went through it again and here are the steps (1-888-242-2100): 1. Press 1 for English 2. Enter your UCI followed by...

    waiting for oath ceremony email/invitation

I just received my email invite today after I called them yesterday. My oath date is Dec 20. Hopefully you'll receive yours too after calling in.

    waiting for oath ceremony email/invitation

Keep sending a message through the online web form. If they emailed you previously asking for more documents you can use that email, if not I would reply to the test email even though it's meant to be strictly about issues related to the test (I mean, what choice have we got?) I called...

Did not receive the email - Oath Ceremony

I just read the most stunning thing from someone who hasn't received their email invite and has just been told by an IRCC agent over the phone that the ceremony date on the tracker is not guaranteed...

    Montreal office - oath invite

I would just like to say that the anguish is far from over even after you're scheduled for the oath. My ceremony is next Monday and I still haven't received the email invite. Someone in another thread has theirs in three days and didn't receive the invite either, when they called IRCC they were...

    waiting for oath ceremony email/invitation

That's not very reassuring. I just called in too, my ceremony is scheduled on Dec 20 (next Monday) and I've been told to call back on Thursday afternoon if I've still not received the email invite by then.

Applicants waiting for more than 2 years interested in Mandamus with a firm as a group meet here !!!

I believe the Mandamus duty owed might be different (anyone can correct me) for a PR already living in Canada and meeting the requirements for citizenship vs someone applying for PR outland. This thread is for Mandumus for PRs applying to be citizens.

I took the test in mid-August. If it's the same officer handling our files it probably won't be long till you get your oath invite.

You can pick either, it makes no difference. You'll receive the same notes whichever one you pick. The only other email you'll receive besides the first one is the one with your notes. The first email is just an acknowledgement of your request giving you a tracking number and says a new number...
