10-12 months for the entire process till I have PR card in hand. Usually it is 6 month pre-covid. But off-late, I see people getting their PR much faster than those that applied in the middle of the pandemic.

I did not prepay anything at the border. I was just given the Form 1 without any payments because it was a temporary import. I had to pay inspection fee at Canadian Tire.

Can you post your timeline here? I don't know if you have posted already. CanadaVisa seems to have a weird way of ordering with the newest ones being on the last page and the oldest ones being in the first page. Not even sure if I can change that.
