You can't extend a SIN, but if your partner is on implied status, they can still work with an expired SIN. That's what I'm currently doing and have no problems :)

347 days later, I finally received my AOR and was able to link my application and work permit application to my account. The stress has just dropped off!

Yep you should have no issues. I'm currently employed full time and am working on implied status in the exact same situation as you. My employer has no issues at all and just wants updates as I go along, but legally your SIN will still work :)

I'm Oct 6th 2020 and am in the same situation, except I had a pre-AOR, have you tried to call IRCC to see if your application is considered complete or at least in their system? Your biometric fee reminder should have an application number on there to use

I've been having the same today all day long, absolutely no agents around. Getting more stressed about my application the closer my current work permit comes to expiring, I just want any positive news from them at this point haha

No AOR yet, submitted on October 6th and my file still hasn't been checked for completeness according to the agents. I've not submitted any docs apart from the receipt for the biometric fees, its very strange
