Hello, I left Canada this May and received my PR card in a foreign country. Once I return to Canada, the first thing I plan to do is to get vaccinated(no ohip required), then get myself an OHIP. What is the fastest route to getting the OHIP WITHOUT a DRIVER LICENSE AND WITHOUT EMPLOYMENT and Do...

Dont think about taking the international forwarding service option, that is way too risky. Ask someone you trust to receive it for you. A better way would be to ask someone who happens to travel to your country in the future to take the card and hand it to you in person. My friend who traveled...

Everything involves risk, I think the risk of getting infected on an airplane when you travel out of Canada right now is more risky/has a higher chance of happening than losing the PR in the mail

PR card timeline (Etobicoke office only)

I have been doing exactly the same and now i am already in China WITHOUT a PR card in my hand. One caveat would be that waiting for the pr card to be approved, waiting for the PR card to mail to your country would take a lot of time. I dont recommend you use this method if you are not like me...

Even though that is the case, you pay your rents, you pay for your grocery in Canada. And your TAXES.. those are all revenue for the government

i dont think its mainly labor they want. It is immigrants with money that they want. They want immigrants to bring all their fortune here, whether they work or not, they need to spend it in canada's economy. Otherwise this economy will collapse i suppose

Thanks. I hope i dont actually have to get a PRTD to come back as the PR card should have been sent to me from Canada... assuming Etobicoke doesnt take more than a year to issue my card :)

Whenever you apply something , there is always a "Risk" and a "chance of rejection" associated with it, even if you applied for PR with all correct and sufficient info, we cannot say that you 100% will get approved. So i believe my saying about the fact that risks are associated with it is...

I would not recommend that you only go back for a month because PRTD might take longer and it can only be applied in your home country. I have received my copr, and I have sent the photo for the pr. But the difference is i will be going away for over a year so I am in no rush to reenter Canada.

I am asking ircc to send the card to my friend's and she will send the card to me back home. This card could take up to a year so there is no need to wait for it. There is always risks and chances of rejection and i am willing to take it.

I am intending to apply for PRTD in my home country but I am planning to be out of Canada for a year. How can you stay just 2 weeks? the quaratine is more than 2 weeks for my home country. I dont think its possible to get the PRTD within 2 weeks anyways.

BAD NEWS FOR ALL OF YOU: Someone in a group chat said that she sent the photo to Etobicoke on JUNE 20, 2020 and had not received the card yet. Called multiple times, got told that they were "too busy" and "not enough staff to handle it". Good luck. :)

I believe my points are still valid after reading this url. In other words, when your first PR card expires and the officer will look back into the immediate past 5 years of your residency. Which means if I wanna leave, the later I got my PR card, the later the expiry date, the more wriggle room...

PR card timeline (Etobicoke office only)

Anyways, for anyone who needs to leave Canada for an extended period of time like me , i think the later my PR card arrives, the better. Here is why: although my friend got COPR in Jan 2020, he received his PR in Feb 2021. and his PR card expiry date is 2026-Feb. That means in 2026, the office...
