Hi everyone, Does anyone know how long it generally takes for the Background (Sch A) checks to complete via the Ottawa office? I was asked for a new Schedule A in March and I'm still waiting for any progress on my application. Not sure if anyone is in a similar position, but it feels like...

"Covid" or them just being useless? They haven't given an actual reason at any point.

I have and they said they aren't handling it. It's been approved since Dec 2020...

    FSW WORLDWIDE

Hey all, I've been seeing a lot of comments about a "bring forward date". Does anyone know if this is actually something that the IRCC follows? And if so, is it generally a sign that the application is nearing completion or would it be for them to request additional docs?

    The Outlander PPR Thread

This isn't the correct thread to ask this, but I'll answer anyways for others who may be interested: 1. Remedical - exact same process, for docs check with the place you're going to get it done 2. PPR is valid for 1 year or until medical expires, whichever comes first. If you need more info...

Just did my 3rd remedical yesterday (was requested in December but this was the earliest availability they had). Hopefully this is close to being the end of the wait! I'll keep everyone posted on what happens.

That makes a lot of sense, thank you. Also, what about countries that don't require a Counterfoil? Would they still submit the passport?

Hey peeps, really sorry since I know this has definitely been asked on the forum but there are so many differing posts. Once someone (Outland) gets the PPR email, what are the actual next steps from an outside of Canada perspective? A lot of threads talk about the new confirmation portal, etc...

Congrats on having some movement in your account - I think it takes up to a week for the medicals to reflect in your account, I had a remed last year November and it took about a week. I'm still stuck in limbo, but I really hope that you get an answer soon and that your PPR comes through ASAP :)

EE-FSW applicant waiting for PPR, can I go to Canada on a Visitor visa to fast-track the application?

This will definitely not fast-track your application. You will still fall under the FSW stream.

Thank you @legalfalcon, when updating the address, would I be allowed to update it to a Canadian address if I'm there on a visitors visa?

    ***>>> February 2020 AOR <<<***

Hi @legalfalcon, My company allows for remote work which means that I will potentially be able to go to Canada on a tourist visa (eTA) for a while and work from there. As far as I understand, since it's not a Canadian related entity I don't need to have a work visa to do this? Would I still...

    Quarantine Exemption

The communication is super unclear, I would 100% suggest calling them before making travel plans. I would assume that you would not need to book a hotel (cause that's just a waste of money) and instead have a room or a plan (e.g. you will book a hotel for the duration) if the test does come...

    Quarantine Exemption

Yes, as per their latest update on the portal, you still need a quarantine plan on arrival (https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/news/2021/07/government-of-canada-announces-easing-of-border-measures-for-fully-vaccinated-travellers.html)

Yeah, depending on the cases, they could retract both reopenings or extend the time until opening for the rest of the world.

Hi there, the IRCC will use the passport that you declared within the initial application. I also have 2 passports and submitted information regarding both, but they will use the passport that you selected within your application (I.e. when they asked for passport number, etc.).
