I submitted my application for refugee status about 2 months ago. Last week applied for open work permit. Not sure if I can get it. Because I just received acknowledgment of claims.

Thank you. I think your situation is quite different with ours. As you mentioned in another thread, you got your claimant ID at the port of entry. We all have no claimant ID even we already submitted our applications...

Have you applied separately for open work permit? I mean filling a new application exclusively for an open work permit.

Congrats. I also applied last week and waiting for response from IRCC. Many people claimed their cases for refugee status from last year, no one could get open work permit. That's a very good news. Have you paid the fees for open work permit?

I'm not sure how you can extend your expired permit.

What is the status of people who applied for refugees and have not attended in eligibility interview because of covid-19? I mean what will happen if the current status expire without eligibility interview.

Is it possible to get a work permit without eligibility interview? Because currently there is no eligibility interview across Canada.

In the Canada website says they are not issue "free work permit". Does it means that they still issue work permit if you pay for it?
