Landing in YVR for 8 hours to “activate” COPR

Just wanted to provide an update for anyone who may visit this thread in the future. My common law husband flew to YVR this morning out of LAX. He arrived at around 10:30 am and was the first in line at customs. He went through the immigration checkpoint (computerized) and was directed to the...

Landing in YVR for 8 hours to “activate” COPR

Ahhhhhhh - I see what you're saying now. Definitely something to take into consideration.

Landing in YVR for 8 hours to “activate” COPR

We are happy to have it mailed domestic or international, wherever they want to send it (I thought it had to be to a Canadian address, but even better if they can just mail it to our house in Los Angeles)

Thanks for your response. Can you expand on why mandatory COVID testing might be an issue?

Landing in YVR for 8 hours to “activate” COPR

Hi all! My husband received his COPR in July 2021 and we have yet to make our move (the process went much faster than we anticipated). His COPR expires in June, so he’s booked himself a flight to a Vancouver and back (same day) to “activate” his COPR. He will provide my brother’s mailing address...

Sponsor Approval Process (when sponsor lives in United States)

Thanks! Do you happen to know what exactly is included when they are processing sponsor approval? What exactly are they reviewing? I have no exciting history in Canada, no bankruptcies, no previous sponsorships, no criminal record, never was on social assistance, so I would imagine it...

Sponsor Approval Process (when sponsor lives in United States)

Hi all! I am the Canadian citizen sponsor who has lived in the United States (Los Angeles) for 15 years (and am currently still here). We sent in our application in January ‘21 and received our AOR really rather quickly in February ‘21. I noticed a great deal of others who share our timeline...

    ***February 2021 Outland Spouse Sponsorship***

We received our AOR on February 20th and as of today no biometrics request, medical request nor sponsor approval - it definitely seems all applications are handled differently and all will have slightly different timelines. Hoping to get these soon though, as I know the big wait comes once all...

    ***February 2021 Outland Spouse Sponsorship***

The funny thing is, just a few days after we sent our 2nd application, we received an AOR for the first one! They actually accepted it with the super old form. Wondering if they'll request the updated form at another point in the process. So weird.

    ***February 2021 Outland Spouse Sponsorship***

Against ALL the odds, our first application was actually accepted (received AOR on the 20th of February). Not sure if they're just going to request a revised form later on in the process? Will be interesting to find out ...

    JANUARY 2021 OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

Update: application was received January 20th, 2021 and just received AOR via email yesterday (February 20th, 2021). Was also able to link to my GCkey account same day (using application number + family name and then applicant's passport details)

    ***February 2021 Outland Spouse Sponsorship***

When I spoke with an call center representative regarding our error, they said to send in a new application as the old one is a guaranteed return. We are using the same payment receipt as the first application, so if by some fluke they don't return the first one, the second one will be rejected...

    ***February 2021 Outland Spouse Sponsorship***

They did not return it, but it's a guarantee to be returned as we used a form that's almost 20 years old. I'm just getting ahead of it and resubmitting so I don't lose months waiting for it.

    ***February 2021 Outland Spouse Sponsorship***

Jumping into this thread. Sent our application in January and it arrived January 20th. Of course, it was only then that we realized that we used a woefully expired form as part of our application package. UGH. Instead of waiting for it to be returned (like, the form we used was from 2002 -...

    JANUARY 2021 OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

Hey Team Jan 2021 Outland. I've been seeing in some other forums that a number of INLAND January 2021 applicants are receiving generic email reminders to pay their biometrics fees within a week or two of their applications being delivered. While the email is generic, they apparently come with...

Outland Applicant: Logistics of Timing Our Move from USA

Oh wonderful! In my head I thought we would have to relinquish the COPR (thought it might have been good for a single entry only) and then be in limbo until the PR card arrived. Thanks for your help!

Yes he’s American. I’m sorry, I should’ve mentioned that in my original post.

Outland Applicant: Logistics of Timing Our Move from USA

Good morning all, I am sponsoring my common-law husband and he is an outland applicant (we both are living in Los Angeles right now). While our application hasn't even been received yet, I'm already trying to work out the logistics of how we effect our move if and when we're approved (of course...
