It is true; unless you have saved a considerable amount of money or plan to raise it by selling existing assets before landing in Canada you stand no chance of buying a condo or even an apartment, especially if you plan to be in any of the big cities (GTA, Van). Even places like Calgary and...

PNP and establishing residency in another province

I have a query regarding establishing residency in a province different from province from where PNP was taken. I am currently in BC with a PNP from another state, since I am staying with my relatives in BC. I am applying for jobs in the province which gave me PNP as well as other provinces...

Living in different city than the CoPR

You probably might need to show a connecting flight ticket from Toronto to SK at immigration. That might be enough since direct flights probably don't exist

FSW draws are expected FSW draws are expected to be higher since they have not happened since Dec 2020. 469 might not make the cut in the first few draws.

Living in different city than the CoPR

Surprisingly a lot of people don't realise that you need to land at a specific place when coming to Canada as a PR or even a TR. Full disclosure - I landed in Toronto being an OINP applicant and did my formalities last month (I am back to my home country serving my long notice period after which...

    Soft landing in March 2022

I am planning something similar but have heard that PR card timelines are longer than they used to be. A friend mentioned that earlier (pre covid) you could get the card after 6-8 weeks. On the forum I have heard people mentioning it can be as long as 4 months now.

Wow, that seems like a long time to get the PR card. Earlier they were giving it out within 1 or 1.5 months

Definitely tech is a big draw but they are taking in people from various other streams. My NOC is 6222 though my actual work experience overlaps other NOCS. I got in through the French stream of ONIP so that is another factor as well.

Its actually in the covid information at the top on the VFS site (don't ask for logic as to why it has been put there!) or you can google as mentioned

There is a channel on Youtube where this guy counsels other people about options to study in Canada with special emphasis for colleges with lower IELTS thresholds. That itself is a warning sign about the 'quality' of these courses. Needless to say the channel is not in English. Don't want to...

I think it might have to do more with optics. IRCC has been getting a lot of bad rep for the delays and now they probably want to show they are able to stick to deadlines. So in their vested interest of appearing 'efficient' they are probably trying to stick to the 6 month deadline wherever they...
