AOR Feb 8 - no updates. It's been over a year.

Just because a lot can change in a year doesn't mean it's not a strain on resources. There's thousands of applications that are delayed and waaay over 6 months timeline (and close to a year), which is understandable given what's going on. However, getting all the applicants to redo the medicals...

This is actually outrageous! So they made you see a doctor, strain healthcare resources even further amidst the global pandemic, not to mention additional cost and risk of contracting covid by making that visit and all because your medical was few months older... I swear to God, if I had known...

Why did they ask you to redo your medical? Hope they're not asking ppl to redo medicals that expired bc ircc was taking forever to process applications.

Was it your first request for medicals or did the first test expire?

Man - I feel your pain. My whole life is on hold and depends on one officer. I've been waiting since early Feb. I understand that it's global pandemic and all that. But the stress is unbearable. Can't sign a new lease, can't buy new furniture, can't buy home/car, missing out on job...

Anyone getting updates after completing biometrics?

Do you get an update when your application is approved? Is COPR just a formality once the application is approved?

Wow, over 50% drop in productivity vs prior year. No wonder processing fees have to go up. It'll take years to clear that backlog and return to processing times under 6 months.

I get your pain. The process is definitely not as advertised but not much we can do about it at this point. Just wait and hope for the best.

I'm also struggling to understand why the biometrics collection was suspended back in March when Canada had well under 1,000 new cases per day but reopened 8 months later when we're hitting 6,000 cases per day. Assuming it took 8 months to organize some hand sanitizer...

Side effects of the great job security - they basically can never get fired regardless of poor performance. Far from the private sector...

Great news. I've seen some applicants getting COPR 8-10 days after getting their biometrics done. Did mine yesterday - hoping to hear back soon.

How do you schedule your biometrics appointments once contacted by service Canada? Is there a phone number you call in Calgary? I realized that there was a typo in my phone number and I probably missed the call. I was told by IRRC that updating phone # now might not change service Canada...
