CICnews is an independent media agency, not operated by the Canadian Government. As far as I know there is no official announcement from Canada government about border closure or travel restriction extension yet.

Hello @legalfalcon, My medical is expired on Dec 13 2020, I called IRCC yesterday and they told me everything is passed, the final decision is yet to make and my file hasn't been touched by any officer since May 2020. I haven't been asked to do a re-medical or my medical hasn't been extended yet...

I don't think so, they may stop doing new draws to reduce immigration but they should not stop processing pending applications. I hope not.
