PR Card (New/Renewal) Processing Timeline 2021

That’s what mine looked like - decision made, but no status when I tried to check it. They had mailed it to CIC, and it sat there for 6 months until they sent a letter to come get it.

PR Card (New/Renewal) Processing Timeline 2021

Final disposition on my PR card. Applied last March. Card was printed 29 September. Picked it up today, 16 March. Basically one year, with 6 months to process and 6 months for the card. My PRTD application also took around 6 months for them to get back to me.

PR Card (New/Renewal) Processing Timeline 2021

Well, they finally got back to me today with a question about my PRTD application from last June. I also finally heard from them about my PR card application from last March. As of January 15th, "We verified the information you provided and can confirm that the application is still in process...

Living in Vancouver and working in Seattle?

In Detroit, and NY, they have wanted to see at least one crossing a week (for the exemption), or a PCR test. If entering with commercial goods, they haven't cared about the frequency. When doing an entry with commercial goods and a guest, they needed to see their arrivecan and their PCR test...

    PRTD

I reached out by email to apply for a PRTD two months ago. They still haven’t sent a passport request. They seem to be really slow right now, as it’s previously taken days. I’ve travelled 10-15 times using a PRTD as the primary document showing status. My experience has been that the...

PR Card Renewal - Truck Driver

Yes. I keep an updated physical presence calculator account with all my absences, and update them periodically. I also keep location history on my phone (Google Maps Timeline), and send myself notes. I'll update it every few weeks. Then on the form I go "see attached", and I have each and...

    PRTD from USA

Yep, and I've done plenty of testing to prove it. I have way more than enough days, and with exit records now shared it's easy to prove. I care about the letter of the law, because the letter of the law is what I'm held to. I "play games" in part so that I have the data to help other...

    PRTD from USA

If you are a PR, you can return to Canada by land by right. The more documentation you have, the better. You won't be able to fly to Canada, and if you don't have a PCR test you may be fined, but you can enter Canada if you can get here. A PRTD would let you get on a plane, either from the US...

PR Card (New/Renewal) Processing Timeline 2021

With the border reopening to Americans, I’ll be able to fly again starting August 9th even if my card doesn’t arrive. My card was stolen before the lockdowns, so I’ve had to drive this whole time.

Trying to work remotely from the US while in Canada for school?

If you do, you will need to make sure to stop any 401k/HSA contributions (as you are not eligible). You will need to file and pay Canadian income tax, and claim it as a credit/exclusion on your US taxes.

Trying to work remotely from the US while in Canada for school?

I worked full time for a US employer as a student. I declared it when I got my study permit, nobody cared. My GCMS notes mentioned the specific exemption for remote work. As long as the employer is not a Canadian employer, and the compensation comes from outside Canada, it's not considered...

Residency obligation short by 2 weeks

Not that I can see. It is a reasonable fallback position. I suspect you will be fine at the border. In my experience, they start asking about 6 months before expiration.

Residency obligation short by 2 weeks

Odds are just odds. With two years left on your card, the odds are quite good, but if you get an agent with a chip on his shoulder, he can make things difficult. Your biggest problem is if they flat out ask if you are in compliance.
