    PR Card Renewal: Address History

Hello, I'm applying for the PR card renewal. I have maintained my Canadian address throughout 5 years (that is, paid rent, utility bills, taxes, and so on). However, during COVID lockdown, I ended up staying outside of Canada for 8 months due to family reasons. I put down those 8 months into my...

Does old PR card still remain valid if I apply for the new card before the expiry date?

My PR card is about to expire in 8 months. I would like to apply for a renewal now because I know it currently takes a long time to receive the new card. However, I will need to travel outside of Canada in about 3-4 months. In case, the processing of the new PR card takes longer than that, my...

    June 2020 - Citizenship Application

Applied in June 2020, AOR in Nov. 2020, and nothing since then. Everything in progress. Sent a request for GCMS notes two months ago - no response. Needed to change my mailing address - applied for change of address online over a month ago - again no change. I don't know what else to do. They...

Citizenship Online Test - Currently outside Canada

There have been a few posts on the FB group today regarding taking the test while outside of Canada. One person provided the screenshot of an email they received from IRCC that says that the system changes are currently underway, and another person mentioned that they spoke on the phone with an...

Expiring OHIP car while out of the country

Could you please let me know the phone number you called to reach Ontario Health Services. I tried calling this number 1-866-532-3161 but it doesn't put me through to a live agent. Thank you.

OHIP: Didn't meet residency requirements of 153 days - What to do? Please help

I left Canada last year and planned to come back within a few months. Therefore, I did not apply for extended absence. However, the circumstances are such that I had to extend my stay and I now realized that over the last 12 months, I was in Ontario less than the the required minimum of 153...

Is police clearance needed if I left Canada and stayed away for more than 183 days AFTER applying for citizenship & receiving AOR

Thank you. This provides a very comprehensive response to my question. Since there seems to be a possibility of the clearance request, albeit small, I'll make sure to apply for the certificate before I leave my home country.

Is police clearance needed if I left Canada and stayed away for more than 183 days AFTER applying for citizenship & receiving AOR

Thank you! For all the time of my eligibility period I stayed in Canada and never left. Do you mean that they can still request the police clearance certificate for the time I spent away from Canada after the eligibility period (that is the time after AOR)?

Is police clearance needed if I left Canada and stayed away for more than 183 days AFTER applying for citizenship & receiving AOR

I wonder if anyone might help me with this. I had sent in my citizenship application & supporting documentation and received AOR, and after receiving AOR, I went to my home country and stayed there for more than 183 days. Do I need police clearance from my home country for the period of time...

Changing home address from Canadian to outside of Canada

I am not an expert, so I can't tell you for sure. I just summarized what other people on the forum have been posting on this topic so far.

Changing home address from Canadian to outside of Canada

Hi, I had different answers. In a nutshell, changing the address doesn't seem to delay the processing of application, and many people recommend informing IRCC. However, other people said if you don't change the address, it is also ok as long as you are able to come back to Canada for the test...

    March 2020 - Citizenship Applicants

Could it be that you accidentally clicked on "remove access on this website"? Because in that case, you won't be able to access it on eCAS but IRCC will still be able to see your application progress.

Do I need to let CIC know if staying outside of Canada for 3 months or longer?

Thank you for your reply. Yes, CIC is confusing on this matter. It says on their website in the list of commonly asked questions that I can be outside of Canada as long as I keep my PR status and come back for the test, and so on, and there is nothing on there about updating them on my...

    Online citizenship test

Don't worry - it's not for the purpose of checking your chronic illnesses. It's for them to make sure you were staying in Canada long enough. Like other documents they require, such as rent and pay stubs.

Do I need to let CIC know if staying outside of Canada for 3 months or longer?

Could anyone please advise? I am currently outside of Canada until March-April. My home & mailing address is in Canada, and if I receive the online test invite, I will travel back immediately. So, the question is: Do I have to let CIC know? I am worried this might unnecessarily slow down my...
