Hi all, hope everyone is doing well. Just wanted to provide an update. We received our updated COPR and AL from Ircc in an email last Friday evening. The new COPR expires on March 31, 2021 and AL is valid till Feb 17, 2021. So if you are still waiting, it is just a matter of time. Cheers.

Hi, I am not qualified in any way, shape or form to answer your question. So take my answer for what it’s worth. I think IRCC might not be issuing many AL’s during the winter COVID spike in December and January. So If I were you, I would go ahead and renew my passport ASAP now.

Yes, looks like it. With COVID cases increasing again, I am not expecting AL’s for people from US anytime soon. Seems like I will have to cancel my mid- Nov Airbnb In Toronto. Also, no point of raising new web forms.

I haven’t noticed any case from US with expired COPR receiving PPR request. But if someone has received the ppr request, that’s good news.

Sorry to hear about your employment situation. That’s rough. Hoping that things work out for all of us. We are also reanalyzing our relocation plan. Mid November might not happen for us. Sucks but nothing we could do here.

Wording of my email is very similar to yours and no updates in my account even though the email says it. So I guess nothing has changed and we still need to wait.

Thanks for sharing. This is weird because Someone on this thread actually called Canada Border service office regarding entering Canada from USA with expired COPR. Cbsa said this is not allowed. I hope that you are right though. Please keep us updated.

Haven’t found anyone from the US (expired COPR cases) who has received a reply from IRCC regarding extensions. Just some generic replies. We are in the same boat. Waiting anxiously.

Thank you for sharing this. So now we have confirmation that we cannot travel on expired COPR. IRCC has not replied to to your web form raised in summer even though you have an urgent situation, I guess my ready to travel form raised in early September might not get any reply for some time...
