Hi there, can anyone recommend a company that provides health insurance to new immigrants for their first three months in Canada? Is this difficult to obtain? The insurance is for my mother, who will be landing soon.

Hello everyone, I am sponsoring my mother under family class. Her medical tests and police check (from India) have been completed. How much longer should we expect to wait? The application was submitted in January 2015 and forwarded to CPC-Ottawa in May 2016. Any info would be appreciated. Rani.

So I applied to sponsor my mom in Jan 2015. In May, I received a letter approving me as a sponsor, and that my file would be sent to CPC-Ottawa! This seems to be going very fast. Any guesses as to when I should be receiving the med test request? And then how much longer till the visa is issued?

I have an odd problem: my application is going through faster than expected, and my mother does not want to leave Mumbai for at least a few more years, not least because her brother is not well and she wants to spend time with him. So I am thinking of withdrawing the current application and...
