Advice on calling IRCC getting more information

As the observations by @armoured illustrate, much of what you are referring to here actually is public information. Accessing it, and especially being able to readily access it, just finding it, is the trick. And a big part of the trick is figuring out what to look for and knowing how to...

Residency Obligation not completed in last 5 years

You seem to be getting out over your skis a bit . . . First question is whether you will have status to stay. This is based on the situation, as it appears, that you are currently in breach of the RO, meeting the definition of inadmissible and potentially subject to inadmissibility proceedings...

Explanation of Address History Dates.. Urgent !!

Re Address History: Reminder: The OP's query, this thread, is about ADDRESS history NOT TRAVEL history. With exceptions (such as definitive termination of residence followed by a significantly lengthy period without establishing new place of residence), generally a person's residential...

    PR CARD RENEWAL 2025 August

Yes, AOR means "Acknowledgement of Receipt," and its means the application has been opened and a file for it established in GCMS; thus the application has been determined to meet the requirements for making a complete application, and it is being processed. Note: Even though AOR means the...

Automated Decision-Making -- "Advanced Analytics" -- and AI, yeah that AI, so maybe some GOTCHA

Even though today's discussion at CBC is not about PRs, so not about PR card or PR TD applications, not about PRs applying for citizenship (these being my primary focus in contested immigration issues), the underlying story is about IRCC's "use of processing technology," and more in particular...

Citizenship application - Hire a lawyer vs Apply on my own

I concur in observations posted by @armoured including, in particular and with some emphasis, that the citizenship application is simple and straightforward enough the vast majority of applicants do not need and do not obtain assistance from lawyers. It is probably quite unusual to hire a...

GCMS notes say 'I do not appear to meet physical presence requirement'. Referred to PS for review/decision. What to do now?

Very likely, then, the physical presence issue, the shortfall, is that IRCC has not verified you were in Canada WITH VISITOR STATUS following that entry when your passport was stamped. Assuming the passport stamp is sufficient evidence of status for enough days to show you met the physical...

Expired PR, Residency obligations not met

Not sure if others take it for granted that you are familiar with and have reviewed the specific information IRCC provides that details what supporting documents a PR needs to present to show their compliance with the PR Residency Obligation, including what needs to be presented when the PR is...

Advice on calling IRCC getting more information

I cannot comment (don't know) about the internal decision-maker structure/hierarchy within IRCC (I have no clue, for example, what it means to be a "Level-2 delegated decision maker (a PM-03)" beyond that described in the source you link), let alone any correlations with the processing of...

PR Obligation | PNP | Moving out of province

Upfront, to be clear, according to a Manitoba government website, to be a "supporter" for a nominee in the MPNP program, the supporter . . . ". . . must be able to demonstrate that any applications they previously supported resulted in successful, permanent economic establishment in Manitoba . ...

Refugee status cessation and PRs applying for citizenship

Congratulations. Enjoy! And it is good to see that not every PR-refugee that might be subject to cessation loses their status in Canada. So, thank you for the update.

PR Obligation | PNP | Moving out of province

It is OK to take a job in another province . . . and resettle there . . . or even (since you have citizenship) in another country. OK for you. OK for anyone who supported or sponsored you. No expertise or knowledge of the MPNP rules in particular necessary, it is safe to say that if you...

GCMS notes say 'I do not appear to meet physical presence requirement'. Referred to PS for review/decision. What to do now?

xx @Seym states the gist of it. Except to say the outcome could be uncertain; you could wait and submit whatever is requested, attend hearings, and in a year or two, perhaps even longer, have the application rejected. The risk of rejection depends on the extent to which the record of...

    Residency Obligation not met

Whether to come to Canada in your situation is a very personal decision. What is the better decision depends on many factors specific to you and your family. This is a decision for you and your spouse to make based on your best judgment, based on your personal circumstances. And yeah, not an...

    Residency Obligation not met

I do not know how much weight it will carry but if the PR explains that part of the reason for not returning to Canada sooner was the parents' health situation, heart valve replacement or knee replacement or whatever, it MUST be considered in the H&C analysis. The question is not whether it is a...

    Residency Obligation not met

For @rajesh0608 in particular . . . Is there a risk you will not be allowed to enter Canada when you arrive? No. A PR will be allowed to enter Canada. Question is whether you will be allowed to stay. That's more complicated. I address the procedure in observations below, but the gist of it...

    Residency Obligation not met

Regarding inquiry by @rajesh0608 who has been (according to posts here) a PR of Canada for nearly three years, since early October 2022, who will be in breach of the Residency Obligation by the time they can return to Canada: Not sure why or what about posts by @rajesh0608 you have difficulty...

Explanation of Address History Dates.. Urgent !!

Generally a person's residential address continues until they establish a different address. There are exceptions, of course, including situations in which the person definitively no longer maintains their previous address and they do not establish a new residence. So unless the transient...

Refugee status cessation and PRs applying for citizenship

As I noted before This is especially so in regards to cessation since the whole scheme connecting PR status to cessation is riddled with inconsistencies, many rooted in the underlying incongruity of linking what is intended to be permanent status (with the purpose of facilitating the...

    2023 Citizenship Applications

For those oriented to binary categorizing, and especially those oriented to a one side or the other perspective (such as IRCC is incompetent or inefficient versus asserting it is efficient and not incompetent), and particularly those who are not interested in figuring out whether in addition to...
