    Finally! AOR!

After 105 days of waiting, we finally received AOR. But, is something wrong? They used my UCI - not provided my husband with his own? They used my maiden name also? Then it says, for the following persons: MY NAME, His Name (typed out that way as well... my name in all caps, his normal after...

May 2026 - Outland Spousal Sponsorship

I've given up checking anymore or caring. I'm at 100 days.

Background check in progress 2-years +

That is an incredible test of faith and patience. I am glad to hear this news for you! Wishing you all the best!

No AOR but done with BIL (June 2026 Applicant)

Did the request for biometrics include a number for your UCI and File #? If so, I wouldn't worry about the AOR - the fact they've already requested biometrics you're application is in processing.

Outland Spousal Sponsorship – June 2026 Applicant Still Waiting for AOR

If they've requested biometrics but you don't have AOR, your application has already passed the completeness check. You can call/email them to provide the UCI/File #. My issue is different in that they haven't even opened my application yet - so even after 100 days it could still be returned...

May 2026 - Outland Spousal Sponsorship

Really, your file is from June 23. You could get AOR soon. If you click on the tracker link in my signature, you can see the average AOR times. I had my MP contact IRCC yesterday - they advised that my file has not been queued to be opened yet and that the process takes up to 12 months...

May 2026 - Outland Spousal Sponsorship

Applied in March, returned (representative form). Reapplied in April, returned (fee shortfall). Reapplied May 29 - nothing since. Your prior submissions have nothing to do with the most recent one.

    Marriage Fraud

Of course this happens. I try to believe that IRCC does a good job vetting some of these people at interviews - but I don't know what happens there. Those that really fight through appeals and miss the warning signs of a scammer are simply people that are easily taken advantage of and are...

    1. I like the UK system, in theory - I don't know how well it works in practice, I'm not there. I like the idea of an interim status for a spouse/fiance/boyfriend/partner etc. 2. In *our* system, yes - I agree that the sponsored spouse arrived as a PR, should be able to remain as a PR no...

    Marriage Fraud

I am absolutely not arguing that undertaking responsibilities are not diminished in the case of a failed marriage. My issue is with "well, it's all the sponsors fault, the sponsor is the abuser, the user." If my marriage fails, fine - I accept that I may have to support my spouse and that they...

    Marriage Fraud

I disagree on the TRV prior to sponsorship. It gives people a chance to live together and see how things work out. People end relationships every day. Obviously, the best time to be able to do this is prior to marriage - but the system kind of pressures the marriage for the spouses to be able...

    Marriage Fraud

Obviously, we can't compare and I don't know all the details. I do know that if there is DV, there is a visa workaround - but of course, that doesn't mean that people don't falsely accuse the sponsor of that so they can move on without them. But, just like there is a temporary visa for...

    Marriage Fraud

There are abusers, there are fraudsters. Unfortunately, one and the other don't usually meet until the couple is reunited. That is a risk of having a relationship/marriage with someone from a country where it's difficult to obtain a visa from Canada. That poster should consider himself blessed.

    Marriage Fraud

Honestly, I think there would be a benefit to using a system similar to what they use in England. You go on a spouse visa and you don't have an automatic PR. At least, for marriages that are arranged or Muslim where there is little communication beforehand it would give the parties a chance...

May 2026 - Outland Spousal Sponsorship

I understand that not *all* June/July have received AOR - just that mine has obviously not followed the typical 40-50 day pattern as most have and I don't understand why that happens. I guess 3 more weeks-ish and I will be out of normal process time for AOR. Although most sources say normal...

May 2026 - Outland Spousal Sponsorship

Honestly, that doesn't make sense if June and July people are receiving AOR. Why would they skip applications? I feel like it's probably something to do with the agent - on medical leave or new trainee etc. Who knows, really.

Would the PR portal not changed from Submitted to something else? Would they not respond to my webform to tell me AOR has been sent by mail, here is your #?

May 2026 - Outland Spousal Sponsorship

My application was completely returned with the shortfall - so I resubmitted as a new application and included the email as a PDF as per their instructions when I reapplied. I've emailed them twice with the webform now and the same response as I shared above... "working on processing as...

I am really sorry for the SA. Unfortunately, him misrepresenting his sexual history to you is in no way, shape or form a misrepresentation for IRCC.

Best response. What has happened, has happened, now do your best to protect yourself. The most important step you have taken is reported the SA to the police.
