    OP would have typically tried to get PR via H&C but given processing time is decades it is no longer truly a viable option since they would not be entitled to a WP for potentially decades if approved and it wouldn’t prevent removal. They could still apply but would be realistic.

    Implied status would only allow you to continue working for yourcurrent employer but you are not trying to extend your work permit to continue working for that employer.
