    There’s nothing you can do, buddy. For countries where diplomacy with Canada is complex —like China, Russia, etc.—Canada conducts strict background checks to avoid granting permanent residency to spies or any other threat.

    That's a good question. I have a friend who was out of status and applied for WP last February. Nothing so far. He sent his application in September 2024. After this waiting time, I think that he won't get his WP. Could you share your timeline?

    Apparently there is nothing wrong for your eligibility to become a sponsor. You are just a bit paranoid and confused with Citizenship requirement - absolutely different! Just relax a bit. SA is important, but what cause delay for the application is PA background and eligibility.
