Which is, honestly, backwards because we are the taxpayers. Yeah, it seems like intelligence agencies simply cannot handle the sheer volume of requests now. They are unwilling to compromise on the quality which is arguably good, but it seems like most of the requests are pointless anyways.- dzx

There is no guaranteed “straightforward application”. They can even randomly send some applications to detailed check for “quality control” purposes.
