    Hi , In my case , I received Eligibility letter in Aug 2024 and IRCC requested Biometrics for me and my dependent . Today we completed them and at the same time GCKey was updated : Biometric status became valid and Background check changed from" not applicable " to "process ".

    Yes correct . You can only do it when requested and after receiving letter .

    Hi , When I checked whether my biometrics were still valid or not, I found that they were not . However . the letter says they are valid until 2030. I think the validity period may have changed from 10 years to 5 years. This might be the reason they requested another biometrics for my file .

    July 2020 , and when applied for travel document I received letter that your biometric valid until 2030 .

    I am April 2023 applicant. Yesterday my dependent and I received Biometric Request , even though my previous biometric are still valid, but IRCC request new one. This is my latest update .
