    December 2024 - Citizenship Applications

Good call, I was expecting my notes to come in sometime early in November so as to reflect a status post the due date. But they arrived much sooner. I have applied for another set from the IRCC. Since these are after the due date on the file, I am hoping for a little more clarity.

Per the notes, they are past due the due date of Oct 25th 2025. I just received my notes over the weekend, and it still showed that LPP had still not started, but the officer was assigned on 9/25/2025, with due date of 10/25/2025.

    December 2024 - Citizenship Applications

Is this the notes from CBSA or IRCC? Usually IRCC will redact any updates from the security section. Best to confirm through CBSA if the security is pending or passed.

    December 2024 - Citizenship Applications

It usually refers to file being escalated to a higher ranking officer, things that PM01 or PM02 levels would not be able to approve as is.

Looks like March 8th is the date where they moved the applications to PM03. I have the same exact timeline. My AOR is 7th Jan. Only BG and Test has been marked complete. I am yet to receive the notes, but the MP did mention the same Oct 25th date, and that the file was assigned to an officer on...

    December 2024 - Citizenship Applications

I have not received my notes yet, but tracks similar to what the MP wrote. This probably means that they will have a decision for you on that date. Congrats.

You can, but they will prioritize people from within their constituencies. In my case, I had an address change, which is why I took advantage and reached out to two MPs. I can say that the ones in the Toronto region are very quick to respond, and actually helpful.

"I wanted to reach out for your assistance with regards to the matter of my Canadian Citizenship and the fact that my application has been deemed non-routine. While I understand that decision, I do want to let you know that since the last time we communicated, I did receive my notes from CBSA...

    December 2024 - Citizenship Applications

Reaching out to the MP this time did help me out. I just received a response from them, where they contacted the IRCC, and confirmed that a case officer has been assigned to my application (so it's out of the queue and in active processing), confirmed that Security, Language and Criminality have...

No, the MP did not give any timeline of any sort. It is recommended that you check CBSA for notes. IRCC has been redacting the Security clearance on their notes, but CBSA showed that my security clearances are all complete.

It helped a little in getting more understanding about where my application is stuck. It was through them that I realized that security clearances were pending.

    December 2024 - Citizenship Applications

Citizenship processing times are now trending at 13 months now. Unfortunately, the situation is such that some applications did move faster than others. From what I gather, there are cases where they relied on automated processes to push some applications through, which led to early oath...

    December 2024 - Citizenship Applications

There is a way for one to apply a mandamus to the courts to have IRCC take any necessary action on my file in case the file has been sitting with no updates for a long time. This is a legal proceeding, but I have heard that the responses from IRCC could very well be that "the file is under...

    December 2024 - Citizenship Applications

There is no hard rule for IRCC to process any application within the processing time displayed. The processing time displayed is based on how long it takes and not how long the IRCC has to process. So in case the file is deemed non-routine (which is the case for me), IRCC will almost certainly...
