Question About Seized Passport and Upcoming Citizenship Application

IRCC asked you to pick it up, so it will not impact your citizenship application as long as you dont use your national passport for travel or renew it.

travel to india ( using refugee travel document)

In 2022 I got an indian visa in my RTD for 1 month and traveled there with no issue. there is no option for e-visa for RTD holders, only paper applications. I tried again in september 2025 and I am still "waiting for pre-approval" from the indian consulate (you need this before BLS will accept...

Refugee Travel Document or Certificate of Identity after getting PR? (My previous Refugee Travel Document expired)

I am speaking from experience and having successfully gotten my second RTD after becoming a PR and having valid visas on my old RTD. I did not use a lawyer for any of it, I just read the instructions meticulously before applying without any issue. There is only 1 option and that is to apply for...

Study permit application - urgent help needed

Yes you are allowed to submit your study permit application with a letter explaining your situation with OSAP. Make sure that letter is detailed and tell them you are applying now because the processing time is (timeframe), your semester starts in (date), OSAP sends out assessment letters in...

Eligibility letter received one year ago

I dont think the eligibility letter is a good measure of when you will get your PR. The processing time starts when you received the AOR for your PR application. Hopefully you will get your PR within the processing times detailed on IRCC's website. You can also apply for your GCMS notes to see...

Today we received the Pre-Arrival letter from IRCC for my overseas partner (this is the first time we receive it). Hopefully that means something is moving. I'm so f*&% tired. Did anyone get any useful information from GCMS notes for their overseas partner? The last one I got says they are...

Need help -Spouse work permit protected person

I would call IRCC to see what they recommend you do first, second and third. Your spouses work permit expiry date is very important- i think they should not let it expire before applying for a renewal. I think this should be the priority. My recommendation would also be to add your spouse to...

    Disclosure package meaning?

No intervention means the Ministry of IRCC does not intend to intervene in your refugee case. Disclosure package refers to your supporting documents and evidence.

    Refugee claim evidence

Sending evidence to the IRB does not make a difference in the timeline of processing your case. You can send it before they ask, I submitted all my evidence with my application and only submitted an update on my life in written/affidavit form when they asked for evidence (because 2-3yrs had...

In my opinion what you are saying is wrong unfortunately. I wish it was not. I speak from personal experience (in canada refugee w overseas partner and her PR is not complete yet), working at an immigration law firm and what IRCC call center staff have said to me as well. I hope it changes.

Overseas spouse and dependents of protected person and convention refugee timeline - Share here

For regular processing IRCC only starts processing overseas dependents files AFTER the principal applicant becomes a PR. Your dependents access to PR is based on your PR status, so until you are a PR your dependents file is not processed. I am a protected person in Toronto and my partner lives...

Do you want US Visa Appointment ‘earliest’ date?

PR is not mandatory for visa processing or approval- that is dependent on the 'strength' of your supporting evidence for your visa application
