    Québec PR Timelines

Could be a very long time depending on how many people are ahead of her in the queue. We also don’t know what reforms are going to be made to H&C and if the program is culled what will happen to applicants with AIP.

Step mum listed instead of brith mum

This may not be an issue for her to visit on a normal visitor but could be a huge issue if you apply for a supervisa or ever get a chance to apply for PGP. You should speak to a lawyer. Who misrepresented your family history, when it happened (were you a minor), whether it happened multiple...

    PR Card Renewal buffer period

At least a month would be advisable. The other big issue is whether you will no longer meet your RO during your travels which could make returning via PRTD a problem. If out of Canada you may also have to pick up your cars in person. Booking travel in March was not good idea given your...

    TR to PR pathway

After that disaster TR to PR there does seem to be some hope that this will actually be targeted and much harder to obtain although policy has been released. High skilled, certain NOCs, established in a smaller communities, certain NOA level, etc. all could be possible.

Protected person Family Applying for B1/B2 USA visa on their Refugee Travel Documents

Very hard to compare to pre-Trump era. US is becoming much stricter about who they award visas especially if you entered Canada via the US. Whether you are PRs will also likely be a factor. All you can do is apply and see what happens.

GCMS notes say 'I do not appear to meet physical presence requirement'. Referred to PS for review/decision. What to do now?

Due date is set for internal processing reasons and should be ignored by applicants. Many incorrectly assume that they provide some sort of processing guarantee and that IRCC has to meet this deadline. Fairly common to keep extended due dates.

WP Reconsideration: Got IRCC Standard Acknowledgment Email – Anyone with Similar Experience & Outcomes?

    1. This is a standard email for anyone requesting reconsideration. Isn’t related to possible outcome. 2 Reconsideration is an informal process with no timeline. Could take many months for a response. 3. Pick one or the other.

    Federal skilled worker program

Whether you have a chance at securing PR will depend on age, education, language score, level of education, etc. Will also depend on whether you qualify for any of the new programs that target H1B holders or those with specialized advanced degrees. Do you have a job offer in Canada?

It hasn’t been 49 days from the UK in years if not over a decade. You were experiencing normal processing.

    Super Visa - December 2025

Processing time will have a lot to do with previous travel history and how much time they have spent visiting Canada. For example if they have visited on numerous occasions for short periods of time then they have a good immigration track record and may be processing by primarily AI. If they...

Visitor visa- Do I need additional documents to prove my relationship and ties ?

That is unfortunately normal processing. There is no need for people to keep contacting IRCC as long as processing is in line with other applicants. It just slows the system down in general.

French citizens considering Canada – question about Québec vs federal immigration

Not sure a masters degree in French literature will help secure a job anywhere in Canada unless you can get a job/work as a teacher. Certainly a need in most of Canada for French elementary and secondary school teachers.

ENTRY EXPRESS - FRANCOPHONE AND LETTER INTENTION LIVE OUTSIDE OF QUEBEC

Applying as a Parent for Minors Visitor Record

The study permit gives your child much better status than a visitor. Also more schools are asking for proof of study permit. What IRCC is pushing people to do although technically your child should be able to remain as a visitor. If you apply for a visitor record I would attach a request to...
