Urgent: Sudden Increase in PR Processing Times for Refugees and Protected Persons (Up to 99 Months!)

How is this a bias against protected people? This is just common sense. Governments have a target PR number. You have to cut somewhere else to reallocate quota. I have suggested 2 places where quotas could technically be available but would have significant consequences with a variety of groups...

    New Budget and PR processing

Would be nice if the minister actually answered questions or provided details. Also would be nice if the liberals were honest about their PR targets. Hiding another +100K PRs while saying they are reducing PR levels may blow up in their face. When the public discovers the extra 100k they will...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

Chances of 3k is unrealistic. Would assume that is the case if bill c-12 passes. The program as it currently stands is not functional. High chances they will cull the program and start from scratch.

Planning to move to Manitoba next year

You will not be able to cover your living costs and your tuition by working as a student. It may be a struggle just to cover your daily living expenses. Have you been approved for a study permit?

Urgent: Sudden Increase in PR Processing Times for Refugees and Protected Persons (Up to 99 Months!)

Some of the top clearance gvt jobs require citizenship not PR. In general most jobs are still accessible to refugees and protected people.

Urgent: Sudden Increase in PR Processing Times for Refugees and Protected Persons (Up to 99 Months!)

Your SIN doesn’t really change. It just goes from temporary to permanent. You can access most things including mortgages.

Urgent: Sudden Increase in PR Processing Times for Refugees and Protected Persons (Up to 99 Months!)

This would create a pull factor and encourage more to claim asylum versus economic routes and would also lead to a huge increase in population as dependents are added.

Study permit refused due to medical surveillance

You need to speak to a lawyer. You didn’t follow the terms of your entry into Canada which could mean it may be difficult to get another study permit.

Study permit refused due to medical surveillance

Medical surveillance is typically over a long period of time to ensure no TB I assume in this case.

    Background Check Completed

Could be a year but also could be 3+ for 2025 applicants give how big the backlog has become. Partially depends if you are identified as a less complex case.

Study permit refused due to medical surveillance

Think the issue is that you were not compliant with the medical surveillance you were required to do when you arrived on your 1st study permit so not compliant with the terms of your study permit.

Study permit refused for PHD , reason stating insufficient funds, help needed while re-applying

That is the minimum requirement. IRCC typically also wants to see how you will be able to survive and pay tuition for the duration of your degree as well. If you have proof of the sale of land for example yes you should attach that as proof of the origins of the funds. If your father’s salary...

Time line for Permanent Residence application for Refugees

They can attempt to but chances of approval are relatively low.

It shouldn’t if you have already been approved as a protected person and filedyour of your PR application.

Urgent: Sudden Increase in PR Processing Times for Refugees and Protected Persons (Up to 99 Months!)

There no chance IRCC is going to increase PR quotas, eliminate quotas, etc. for all forms of PRs, protected people and their dependents. It was the government’s responsibility to try to minimize how many were arriving in Canada and claiming asylum and to limit the size of refugee programs coming...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

IRCC is not going to announce the cancellation of programs in advance. Also the minister made errors in the committee hearing so not sure I would take her word. Based on my sources H&C quota for all H&C programs will remain at the 2026 levels and I don’t see how general H&C program can continue...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

That wouldn’t solve the fundamental issue of decreasing temporary residents and limiting number of PRs and the general population growth in Canada for PRs/citizens. Would take 5-10 years to clear the backlog since I assume you are not eliminating the ability for PRs and citizens to sponsor a...
