    US B1/B2 Visa Questions

Would suggest preparing the strongest application possible with proof of your ties to Canada (employment, property lease/ownership, etc.), proof of funds, reason for travel, etc. and then it is up to US whether they grant you the visa. Given current administration it will be more difficult to...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

The argument was that the 1500 pages would just be skimmed through anyways. You can’t skim through articles and documents presenting similar cases. Also a 1000 page difference in your application and a 1500 page one. If people submit these long H&C applications people have to expect much longer...

    US B1/B2 Visa Questions

Sure there are examples but have not been following approval patterns under Trump other than seeing more refusal in general.

    US B1/B2 Visa Questions

Any posts before this spring/summer are likely no longer relevant. Things like a property lease can be used to show ties to Canada. Not having a precious US B1/B2 are not grounds for a refusal. In general having an extensive travel record to certain countries typically helps getting a B1/B2...

Quebec protected person considering moving to another province after applying pr

It’s unclear how your file will be treated if you switch to processing in another province. Time to receive a hearing for many is now 2-3 years outside of Quebec and with the backlog there is a good chance they will increase not decrease unless there are some major reforms to the asylum system...

Super Visa Income Requirement supporting documents

A supervisa is not meant to allow parents to move to Canada and their visit will remain contingent on their ability to meet the terms of their supervisa if they are awarded one. Parents are expected to be able to support the needs of their children.

    US B1/B2 Visa Questions

The only caveat is that getting a visa is more challenging in general under Trump government. All people can do is show ties to Canada like job and home, proof of funds and reason for travel. The US immigration policy isn’t necessarily logical or reasonable at the moment so if denied wouldn’t...

    CBSA Not Reply IRB

Is there something in your profile that may lead to longer FESS? Country of origin? When did you claim asylum? Just to clarify IRB sent you a letter out of the blue asking you to follow-up on FESS processing or did you contact IRB asking about why you have not received a hearing date yet?

Need Advice For A Unique Situation

Do they want to move to Canada? Normally you have to accompany your spouse abroad for this to count. In their case she met and start living with the Canadian citizen after not being compliant for over a decade. Tough to say how IRCC will address this case. They could try to apply for a PRTD...

Switching from Outland to Inland Sponsorship while Mom in Canada (Parent sponsorship)

She can attempt to visit you during processing. Yes she can pay you for her medical testing in Canada. You should always advise IRCC of change of location. If she is visiting Canada during processing the application will be processed inland. She can not move to Canada until her PR is approved.

Additional Summary requested: Education and Career

Pre-arrival letter is purely procedural and not related to the end of processing. If for spousal sponsorship somewhat rare but not out of the norm. Often there may be a gap somewhere in your previous background information that triggers the request.

    Refugee/Asylum Claimants 2023 Timeline

Most less complex cases still require a hearing although often a short hearing. Assume you may be referring to virtual hearings which happens for all forms of asylum claims to try to redistribute workloads between various locations/provinces and not limit members from hearing cases in one location.

Help! No decision was made during the hearing, is that a bad thing?

It is important to correct misinformation so people are as educated as possible about the process. Negative hearing results are not given out at hearings primarily for safety reasons. Some members do advise asylum applicants of a positive decision at the end of a hearing although they are not...

    Refugee/Asylum Claimants 2023 Timeline

Given long processing time this is not going to be the case for @Morale who will likely need a full hearing. Some people who have been identified as less complex cases with very high chances of approval can be approved without hearing typically like your case in the days before the hearing. That...

Refusal on visitors visa applied in May 17, 2025

Does it specify proof of round trip airfare? That is very strange because IRCC strongly discourages purchase of airfare when applying. Proof of itinerary and proposed flight plans are usually sufficient.
