PR card renewal delay after getting approved email from IRCC

Agree but think we are still missing the whole picture. What were her H&C grounds for the PRTD, is she married to a Canadian if so she would have spent long periods not living with them or would have over 20 months, was she in Canada when she applied for the PR card in 2021 and for how long, had...

What supporting documents can I provide to meet residency obligations?

Pharmacy records on their own not a great proof of residency. You don’t have to show ID to pick up most prescriptions and may have other people pick them up for you. People have also been known to fill Rx even if not in Canada and in some cases not qualifying for healthcare in Canada due to...

Which Province is Your Golden Ticket to PR?

Think the tens of thousands of people who thought this would true and have no pathway to PR think differently.

    Mothers long stay abroad

She should return asap so at a minimum she has a month or two or buffer time. If she arrives in November she must essentially not leave for 2 years of risk losing her PR status. Given how hard it is to get PGP people take so many risks that could lead to parents losing their PR.

    Mothers long stay abroad

Would add that she did not qualify for provincial health if only remained in Canada for 3.5 months so hopefully she did not obtain a health card and use it. She needs to reapply when she returns if she plans on remaining in that province and meeting the residency requirements to qualify for...

Visitor Visa change from 6 months to multi-entry

Unless there was a passport expiry issue then there was likely concerns about her application. Once she has proof of returning home after a visit or two she may be granted a longer visa. If her desired travel period had changed you should have sent a webform with updated itinerary.

USA Visa: Using my refugee travel document

Most people don’t travel to the US, especially by plane, and then a month later decide to claim asylum in Canada. The one exception is if there is a major country condition change during their visit like a war. Assume you did gathered documentation in support of your asylum claim, profession...

    Super Visa: Net Worth Requirement

Child should still be able to show savings to account for additional expenses of having a parent visit, insurance, emergencies, etc. and/or that parents have the additional funds to cover any additional costs. No set amount but proof of savings make the application stronger especially given COL.

dependent children inland sponsorship since June 2024 !

Has the mother always been compliant with her RO? How much time had she spent living in Canada in the past 5 years when she applied to the children in 2024? Has she always been in compliance with her RO and was she ever spoken to when entering Canada or reported. Has she and the remained in...

PR under Ukraine Family Reunification Public Policy

Canada’s policy towards Ukrainians compared to other citizens has already been very generous and the bureaucrats at IRCC actually warned against it because it would be problematic longterm. They also have their own pathway to get PR even if processing may take years without a cap unlike many...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

[we QUOTE="gssidhu19, post: 11085198, member: 900608"] I renewed my parents visitor record 4 times so it is definitely possible. Issue is not about OWP but about no status. Maintaining status is applicant’s responsibility regardless of the inconvenience and I am sure this is something that IRCC...

PR card renewal delay after getting approved email from IRCC

Whether children are Canadian has no impact on her RO. How many days has she spent in Canada in the past 5 years? IRCC is asking for her travel history because she wasn’t compliant with her RO when she applied and they are concerned that she isn’t compliant now. They also want to ensure she is...

    Question regarding proof of funds

Can be funds from anywhere as long as you have enough savings to account for things like currency fluctuations and proof of where the funds are from if there are any concerns.

PR Card Renewal Under H&C 2025

Could take over a year to get processed. In general if not reported it is much safer to remain in Canada until back in compliance and then apply for PR card renewal. No way to get update. You essentially need to wait to hear from IRCC and do not leave Canada.

April 2025 - Inland Spousal Sponsorship

Agree. These are the exceptions. Plenty of others waiting over a year. Under a year is still pretty fast processing to get PR. It has also become much easier to join a spouse in Canada on a TRV compared to even 2 years ago when spouses would often have to wait Outland until they got PR.

    Super Visa - Insurance questions

As long as you can actually have the savings to pay the deductible if you use healthcare. Many would not be able to pay the deductible or any expense over 100k which does happen. Sometimes paying more upfront ends up being less expensive in the end. Having parents visit come to visit comes...

PR card renewal delay after getting approved email from IRCC

RO is a rolling total obligation so she needs to meet RO on any day past the original 5 years. She applied when she didn’t meet RO which has lead to this ongoing issue. She should not leave until she gets a new PR card.
