    Hearing date change

You had access to both a supervisa and your child was on EOI2020. Applying for asylum unless 100% guaranteed and willing to deal with the consequences of applying for asylum and potentially being a protected person is never a good option. If approved you will not be able to return to your home...

Processing can take months from Nigeria. Would suggest discussing deferring admission with your school if you planned on staying this fall.

PR card renewal delay after getting approved email from IRCC

What about the last 5 years? Why did she apply to renew her PR card when she was not compliant with her RO in 2024. She should have waited until she was back in compliance.

    April 2025 Super visa application

Although they did only visit for 40 days they are now older and profile likely has changed. You being a citizen has very little to do with their profile or risk of not returning home after their visit. Many parents are not returning home and trying to remain via various means which is partially...

    April 2025 Super visa application

No point if comparable processing times to others. It is very obvious there is a significant backlog and files are being vetted versus the blanket approvals in the past.

    AOR April 2025

Likely many years if you filed somewhat recently unless there are reforms to the system which would exclude some types of applicants (parents would likely be a target population) or have a process for faster refusals for some cases. Last fall IRCC indicated it would take 5-7 years to clear the...

H&C Unique situation with my 76-year-old mother. Advice appreciated

Years. Fall 2024 IRCC said it would take 5-7 years to clear the backlog which likely has gotten much worse since then. H&C does not prevent removal either so many will be removed or will have to leave for example to access healthcare while cases are still processed.

HCWIP 2026 - Children max age

You can certainly try but eldest child will be over 13 before end of processing and perhaps much older because processing can often take years. Have they had a nanny in the past? It would be an unusual time to add a nanny. Also impossible to determine what will happen with program next year.

    Refugee/Asylum Claimants 2023 Timeline

It is not stuck just the reality of a significant backlog. Many cases from West Africa have at minimum IFA which is why most don’t qualify for expedited processing.

I want to apply for asylum in transit

There would not be a need to transit through Canada to get to Barbados. Most travel would go through Europe or the US. If you don’t have an extensive travel history and significant savings it would not make sense to go to Barbados. Barbados is not a common tourism destination from Nigeria.

Chances of getting an OINP nomination with CRS 435, a pharmacist primary applicant, and a PR sibling in Ontario?

Wouldn’t be equivalent to a professional degree? In most of the world program starts after high school/secondary school is typical. Not even a PharmD. Agree that score is too low. She needs another degree or at least a few years of Canadian work experience. Learning French also a good option...
