Quebecers! How Are You Dealing With This Spousal Sponsorship Plot Twist? Roll for Initiative…

Again, my point is only that you should completely move and not fart about with 'renting a room' and that as your 'friend' had suggested. Any games you play run risks for you. Not worth it - IMO. The rest is up to you.

Up to you to decide. However you can order it direct from the govt for less money and not worry.

Quebecers! How Are You Dealing With This Spousal Sponsorship Plot Twist? Roll for Initiative…

If you are factually/substantively living in Quebec, then you will have to continue paying the 'additional' taxes (adjust) in Quebec. Which will be admitting that you reside there. And if you don't - you're not paying the taxes due in Quebec. And Quebec won't get the adjustment taxes they are...

Quebecers! How Are You Dealing With This Spousal Sponsorship Plot Twist? Roll for Initiative…

I would NOT suggest playing games with this. If you move, move. Amongst other things, because it would change your tax residence and health insurance, etc., you would become liable for potential penalties on those points. And if IRCC checked, they would likely kick you back to the quebec queue...

    February 2025 - Citizenship Applications

The reports on here so far have been quite positive - much easier, can do from home (except for getting photograph done), submission easy (online), and I think those who did it got passports 7-15 days after. And they don't require a guarantor. I don't know if that's a guarantee for delivery...

If you were to do this, you'd need to change your address and some IDs and utilities for example to submit.

    September 2024 Citizenship Applications

That's what they say. I don't know of anyone who's tested it by actually applying before that. Presumably this is just some time for staff to enter the final information in systems and the systems to (reliably) update. It's possible it's faster now than when they first set this up (i.e...

    Spousal sponsorship

I am not certain precisely what is required in Turkey, although the requirements after a couple minutes of googling seem to me similar to much of Europe/post-soviet space. (Pls no-one take offence at my generalization). "Single certificate" since you are in Turkey - contact the consular section...

    November 2024 - Citizenship Applications

It's true. It should be a 'corner case', a situation that in practice is quite rare.* And that's why I think that focussing on the 'accompanying spouse' PR rules should be way down the list of probabilities and priorities. In all these scenarios it doesn't apply to those who remain in Canada...

    ATIP Request for ICES Status

I don't think there's a way to specifically ask if CBSA has fulfilled the ICES request. I suppose you could try. I'd just fill out the form asking for all that CBSA has, including related to immigration/IRCC.

    Dependent Child Sponsorship -2024

Go ahead and apply for the TRV now and then decide when/if it gets approved. If approved and child travels to Canada, you advise of change of address and that the child will be in Canada. Then when approved, you should get information on how to do virtual landing (or if you get PPR instead, you...

    Sponsor Eligibility Issue

I don't believe so. They can ask you for it. The reason you didn't submit (time of year / no NOA yet) is pretty obvious.

    November 2024 - Citizenship Applications

I'd just write 'travel plans' and not go into details. The reason they ask for a reason? Probably because there's a space in the form for it.

    November 2024 - Citizenship Applications

I agree with your advice/conclusion here, may as well split it if they're both abroad. I was mainly underlining the point from above, that no-one knows precisely how IRCC approaches 'accompanying', and it seems to have moved some over the years - and could easily be more strictly applied in...

    November 2024 - Citizenship Applications

You put this far more succinctly than I did. I'll only add for clarity, the 1095 days physical presence 'clock' does stop as of the day you apply.

    November 2024 - Citizenship Applications

I think this is over-interpreting and would not at all be reliable - but more importantly it's several degrees of separation from reality, at present. I mean: you could find a lawyer willing to take your money to argue that. But the counter-argument is obvious, from a common law, substantive...
