    PNP preferably from Ontario

There are no options for your family at the moment. How old are you? Are you married? If so how old are they and what is their ed/work experience? What is your education history? Have you ever worked or studied in Canada? What are your language scores? Do you know French?

Travel with Travel Documents For Protected Persons/Refugees

If traveling in the Schengen area and your home country which you sought protection from is Hungary I would save evidence of daily activities and where you stayed daily. I would even take pictures in front of recognizable monuments every day so that it is easy to prove you remained outside of...

    US B1/B2 Visa Questions

Are you sure the visas are still valid? Many get cancelled once you claim asylum in Canada. You submit your RTD. You can get your home country passport back from CBSA or explain it was confiscated by CBSA when you claimed asylum. If you have any photocopies of your previous passport I would...

Denied marriage, looking to do refugee claim

Don’t interpret the proposed bill that way. I read it as though you would be ineligible for referral so the application would no longer be valid not that you are safe if you make it to RPD. “As proposed, a claim would be ineligible for referral if refugee protection is claimed more than one...

    Parents not at wedding

It is really based on the situation. For example if you have lived together for 5 years then IRCC isn’t likely to be concerned about the validity of your relationship/marriage. If you have known each other for less than a year, have never lived together, one of your status is about to expire or...

Hasn’t passed yet but it will be retroactive it if passes

    Less complex hearing

Once you submit your evidence your claim will be reviewed to determine if you can be approved without hearing, you need a short hearing or you need a full hearing. Although in general a faster pathway wouldn’t say it is fast these days due to the volume of cases. Really tough to predict...

Denied marriage, looking to do refugee claim

If applying now and new legislation passes he wouldn’t qualify assuming he has been in Canada for over a year.

    Dependent child sponsorship

The only thing that would delay the process is a communicable disease. There is no medical inadmissibility for spouses and dependent children. Would suggest connecting with other parents who maybe able to give you more information about how you should prepare financially, education-wise...

Protected person moving out of quebec

Best of luck. Many viewed Alberta as some sort of utopia but many people have moved before you and so there are many competing for the same employment. Consider all locations across Canada if you want to move out of Quebec depending on your field of work. There are pockets of Canada, often in...

    2025 PR Application Timeline

Would really encourage people to monitor their file but not focus on it too much for their mental health. Processing times are going to be very long and there will be long periods of time (years) where there may be no movement. There is an extremely large backlog so work on establishing your...

Protected person moving out of quebec

Quebec runs their own immigration and sets their own quotas. Has nothing to do with taxes. PR processing times are going up in the rest of Canada and is getting close to 3 years. It is purely a math issue. Many applicants for a small quota. The economy is not good in many places in Canada...

2023 PR Applications Timeline (Protected Persons & Refugees)

There is no quota for granting protected person status. There is certainly a quota for granting protected people, refugees and their dependents PR with a significant backlog. Just protected people (so those who claimed asylum within Canada) without their dependents or other refugees have a...

2023 PR Applications Timeline (Protected Persons & Refugees)

Zero point filing mandamus at this point. Your processing is very much in line with other applicants. Next October may make sense but hopefully you will have received PR by then. Save your money.

2023 PR Applications Timeline (Protected Persons & Refugees)

Mandamus didn’t work. They filed it but it doesn’t sound like it was granted and likely wouldn’t have been granted. Think this is pure coincidence. Unless process is taking a year longer than others would be very reluctant to file mandamus

2023 PR Applications Timeline (Protected Persons & Refugees)

They are customer service agents not VOs so yes they can’t see much and often aren’t very knowledgeable. Assume many are not longterm employees.

2023 PR Applications Timeline (Protected Persons & Refugees)

It still has to be substantially later than other applications. The timeline doesn’t make sense. This would not be a mandamus case. Think this is pure coincidence and normal processing. They said they filed mandamus but it wasn’t granted.
