    New proposed asylum rules

Not sure how this is related to the election. Either winner would have had to take action and likely very similar action. Non-partisan bureaucrats make up the majority of IRCC.

No and no information has been announced.

    Parents & Grandparents Program(PGP) 2024

This is an administrative step and can be received at any point during processing. It does not mean that PPR is imminent.

    Retroactive payment of CCB

Typically you need to show you income for the past 1-2 years before arriving in Canada to receive the CCB.

    No portal 1

Assume due to backlogs but so would suggest finding others applying through same program on this forum to compare their wait times between FD, P1,P2 and eCOPR.

When did she stop studying? The issue is she may already be out of status. If not studying you can lose your study permit. The schools are required to report students who do not attend.

Received PFL for PRTD Application - Need assistance

Yes this is a PFL. Unless you can prove H&C your parents will lose their PR status. I would suggest considering hiring a lawyer for the best chance of success. It is up to you to decide whether you feel like you can submit your own response and how much your parents want to try to retain their...

Asking for a friend (PGWP Holder)

At over 50 even with French the chances of securing PR are very low. Many younger people are also learning French. Your mother’s CRS score is too low for OINP even if they have a draw. Your mother really needs to have a plan B including returning home.

Asking for a friend (PGWP Holder)

Let’s not joke and be sarcastic because people may not understand that this is not a valid pathway unless your life is truly at risk. Many are going to face significant longterm consequences because they were incorrectly advised to claim asylum. Although I am also frustrated by the inaction by...

Asking for a friend (PGWP Holder)

H How old are your parents? Realistically after a certain age it will be very difficult for them to remain in Canada longterm or qualify for PR.

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

This is different than the background checks (security and criminally). Did you recently claim asylum?

Relocating from Other Province to Quebec for PRs

Never said that PRs don’t have freedom of movement. The one caveat can’t be right after receiving PR.

Relocating from Other Province to Quebec for PRs

A supervisa is not sponsorship. For a variety of reasons it is fairly unusual to relocate from Alberta to work remotely for your employer from Quebec. Typically people have a specific reason to move Quebec if they work remotely for an employer in another province.

Asking for a friend (PGWP Holder)

Impossible to determine what her chances would be at getting another WP. Partially depends on the job and the applicant’s profile. As a visitor you can’t apply for a WP from within Canada.

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

Did you only recently claim asylum? This is a security review to determine if you qualify to apply for asylum.

    Private sponsorship

This is not unusual time frame but people are not wanted that it could still be quite some time before they actually come to Canada even after they pass the interview

    Regarding FESS

Seems like you are likely in queue waiting for a hearing.

    Again... Front-End Security Screening

Think hearing time over 2 years are going to become much more common. This is not first time processing times hit over 2 years but most are not familiar of what was going on with asylum claims 10+ years ago.
