How long does it take to receive the Decision Letter?

Not sure if they make exceptions. Normally a pdf gets sent.

How long does it take to receive the Decision Letter?

There is no specific timeline for NOD so yes it can take this long. Doesn’t necessarily mean it is a positive or a negative. The NOD should be sent to your lawyer by email no longer by mail.

    New Budget and PR processing

Assume predicted there is now outrage about the one time programs that weren’t included in the levels plan. If it was only people already in Canada that likely wouldn’t be a big issues but many have dependents outside of Canada. Government is stuck in a hard place. It is very hard to deal with...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

Extremely hard to stick to exact numbers. Also leaves a bit of flexibility for an unplanned event. What is important is the messaging about immigration which is trying to lower levels even though they did the exact opposite by not counting a few one time programs. Also giving a much higher quota...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

The goal is to keep PR numbers low so don’t think IRCC goal is to meet the higher targets. By saying 1k that is essentially confirming their low commitment to general H&C. We really need to see what happens if/after bill c-12 passes.

Apply early before 5 month trip, or wait till after return?

She may have to adjust her travel plans if she wants to prioritize her PR status. She may also be spending too much time outside her province to qualify for healthcare on top of that. A valid health card does not mean you qualify for provincial healthcare if you don’t meet the residency...

Urgent: Sudden Increase in PR Processing Times for Refugees and Protected Persons (Up to 99 Months!)

I said that the priority is safety and that speed of PR is not the priority when it comes to refugees/protected people.

Urgent: Sudden Increase in PR Processing Times for Refugees and Protected Persons (Up to 99 Months!)

More about responsible use of resources and government efficiency. Wanting protected people and refugees to follow the rules, not misrepresent their case and actually having their life at risk in their home country shouldn’t be controversial. There are people whose lives are at risk in their...

Urgent: Sudden Increase in PR Processing Times for Refugees and Protected Persons (Up to 99 Months!)

How is this a bias against protected people? This is just common sense. Governments have a target PR number. You have to cut somewhere else to reallocate quota. I have suggested 2 places where quotas could technically be available but would have significant consequences with a variety of groups...

    New Budget and PR processing

Would be nice if the minister actually answered questions or provided details. Also would be nice if the liberals were honest about their PR targets. Hiding another +100K PRs while saying they are reducing PR levels may blow up in their face. When the public discovers the extra 100k they will...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

Chances of 3k is unrealistic. Would assume that is the case if bill c-12 passes. The program as it currently stands is not functional. High chances they will cull the program and start from scratch.

Some of the top clearance gvt jobs require citizenship not PR. In general most jobs are still accessible to refugees and protected people.

Your SIN doesn’t really change. It just goes from temporary to permanent. You can access most things including mortgages.

Urgent: Sudden Increase in PR Processing Times for Refugees and Protected Persons (Up to 99 Months!)

This would create a pull factor and encourage more to claim asylum versus economic routes and would also lead to a huge increase in population as dependents are added.
