Urgent: Sudden Increase in PR Processing Times for Refugees and Protected Persons (Up to 99 Months!)

Your SIN doesn’t really change. It just goes from temporary to permanent. You can access most things including mortgages.

Urgent: Sudden Increase in PR Processing Times for Refugees and Protected Persons (Up to 99 Months!)

This would create a pull factor and encourage more to claim asylum versus economic routes and would also lead to a huge increase in population as dependents are added.

Study permit refused due to medical surveillance

You need to speak to a lawyer. You didn’t follow the terms of your entry into Canada which could mean it may be difficult to get another study permit.

Study permit refused due to medical surveillance

Medical surveillance is typically over a long period of time to ensure no TB I assume in this case.

    Background Check Completed

Could be a year but also could be 3+ for 2025 applicants give how big the backlog has become. Partially depends if you are identified as a less complex case.

Study permit refused due to medical surveillance

Think the issue is that you were not compliant with the medical surveillance you were required to do when you arrived on your 1st study permit so not compliant with the terms of your study permit.

Study permit refused for PHD , reason stating insufficient funds, help needed while re-applying

That is the minimum requirement. IRCC typically also wants to see how you will be able to survive and pay tuition for the duration of your degree as well. If you have proof of the sale of land for example yes you should attach that as proof of the origins of the funds. If your father’s salary...

Urgent: Sudden Increase in PR Processing Times for Refugees and Protected Persons (Up to 99 Months!)

There no chance IRCC is going to increase PR quotas, eliminate quotas, etc. for all forms of PRs, protected people and their dependents. It was the government’s responsibility to try to minimize how many were arriving in Canada and claiming asylum and to limit the size of refugee programs coming...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

IRCC is not going to announce the cancellation of programs in advance. Also the minister made errors in the committee hearing so not sure I would take her word. Based on my sources H&C quota for all H&C programs will remain at the 2026 levels and I don’t see how general H&C program can continue...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

That wouldn’t solve the fundamental issue of decreasing temporary residents and limiting number of PRs and the general population growth in Canada for PRs/citizens. Would take 5-10 years to clear the backlog since I assume you are not eliminating the ability for PRs and citizens to sponsor a...

Does irb still send letter to appear for hearing ?

If you only applied last February into sure why your lawyer suggested you may get a hearing in February 2026. Were you even determined to be a less complex case? Still could be a few years before you get a hearing if normal processing.

Deceased mother of my step sister/ step sibling points.

If your father’s partner was still alive when you applied it should be ok. Given they were common law you may be asked for additional proof. I would advise IRCC of the death just to be upfront & honest with IRCC versus them potentially finding out if they ask for more proof of family proof.

Proving cohabitation without joint lease/bills for a same-sex couple outside Canada

Doesn’t sound like he may have met the residency period to qualify for provincial health card and if he doesn’t probably wouldn’t include it.

    2025 PR Application Timeline

Would be using the new processing tool. IRCC is giving you the best approximation of processing times. Previous posted processing times did not reflect accurate future processing times as they started to increase and the processing times will continue to increase. If you had been following the...

Spousal Sponsorship from Quebec with the intention to relocate to Ontario

    1. Submit proof of move to Ontario like lease, employment in Ontario, health card/driver’s license, etc. 2. Unclear how Quebec applicants who move to Quebec are put into the queue. You have already done certain steps so won’t start from scratch.
