    2023 Citizenship Applications

AH...okay, I was multitasking when I tried to read the post. That's interesting to say the least. May be worth investigating....

Congrats! I am just curious when you said $50. Surely that can't be the only money you spent in this whole ordeal right?

    2023 Citizenship Applications

It's certainly interesting to hear what everyone has to say about my situation and possibly a few others. For me specifically, the chat I had with that lawyer I kept bringing up was really eye opening. When I talked to her I had already talked on the phone with 2 other firms and both wanted some...

    2023 Citizenship Applications

Well here's the good and bad thing is everyone's situation is different. We can't know if those 2024 AORs are On Hold, already close to completion or stuck for different reasons and the mandamus may or may not have anything to do with the whole situation. The other side of the coin is who knows...

    2023 Citizenship Applications

I think you've seen what most people have said about mandamus - if it doesn't end up in court, IRCC isn't going to blink an eye, let alone move a finger. On the topic about making noise, the only noise that's happening is myself screaming for spending thousands of dollars and getting no where. I...

    2023 Citizenship Applications

On Hold means IRCC is totally lost and has no clue of what they are doing. To try and stop people from asking, they just say status is On Hold. Why? Who knows. Again, without proper oversight, there's no way to understand what does IRCC do.

Simply put, I am not really in the position to spend $10k for this, let alone more. Does it suck? Yes, but that's life, life sucks.

    2023 Citizenship Applications

When I say remote communication may cost me more meaning there are things that are just easier to be done face to face and would cost more because of the remote situation, especially with more old school industries like law. The pricing is a lot lower than what I've seen pretty much everywhere...

Have you not received anything from an ATIP request? How much time has passed since you submitted an ATIP request?

    2023 Citizenship Applications

I am in Vancouver so the whole process may be difficult if I need to engage a lawyer in Toronto. In addition, I am sure at this point, IRCC isn't going to budge if it's merely a letter from a lawyer. So, realistically how much less than $15k (not even taking into account for the possible...

    2023 Citizenship Applications

Thanks for the multiple posts mentioning my handle. I have talked to a lawyer and she talked me out of doing a writ of mandamus. I really appreciate that I talked to a lawyer with some senses and not simply a bloodsucker, but she told me the cases she has seen recently did not get resolved...

    2023 Citizenship Applications

I second this. Citizenship is a privilege, but IRCC is structured specifically to process immigration, refugees and citizenship applications. The fact that they are not carrying out this job properly, it begs to question if the tax payers' money (mind you, taxes come from PRs as well, not just...

I truly believe I won't see anything happening until the clock ticks 3 years. If this is not mismanagement, I am not sure what is.

Please advise..best option for my spouse

I can see that, but the counter argument is seeing quite a few of us are stuck at security checks for who knows what reason, why would IRCC voluntarily expedite processing for jobs requiring really high security clearance?

Please advise..best option for my spouse

No, it's for employments anywhere. I am not going to search for it, but I remember at least one person have tried that with an employment opportunity in US and was successful in pursuing for urgent processing. Also, I think it's very rare that a job opportunity within Canada that would only...

Please advise..best option for my spouse

No, you have mistaken what I meant. I mean IF the spouse received a job offer from this new country, but her current citizenship doesn't allow her to work in this country, but a Canadian citizenship would, then it is a reason to ask for an expedited process because it affects the family income...

    July 2023 - Citizenship Applications

Mandamus is much less effective now because of the huge backlog at the court with all the mandamus cases ended up there and IRCC not resolving them

Please advise..best option for my spouse

Here's to plant a seed in your mind....would your wife be able to work at this new country with her current citizenship (non-Canadian)? If not and if she could get an employment offer from a company there, this is a legit reason to ask for expedited processing.
