    April 2025 - Citizenship Applications

Yes, agree, it's nice and (so far) seems a bit faster. I stated that to reassure any who read about this that not getting an invitation is NOT an indication of anything bad about their file or citizenship app.

Did not disclose marriage before ECOPR, Need help rectifying it

You should see a lawyer. Your mistake is indeed a terrible one, and as far as I'm aware, there is no procedure to rectify it after the fact. In my view you did the correct thing by advising them - it at least provides a basis to claim you did attempt to fix it.* That said: there's no procedure...

    April 2025 - Citizenship Applications

It is a pilot program, apparently, only by invitation, and not that many report getting invited. Nothing bad about not being invited to the pilot.

Medical Exam when extend to stay after PR application

That's why I wrote "does not necessarily mean barred from entry." The point being to reassure this person - in the unlikely event that they actually had TB... ...that the important thing is to get treated. As your links provide more info on, thanks.

    March 2025 - Citizenship Applications

To be clear: I am not claiming the process is 'fair', I'm not claiming that there aren't issues and delays (and a lot outstanding), etc.* I'm making one very specific and limited claim: that the statements about eg LPP 'not started' we get from IRCC are NOT useful indicators, and 'not started'...

    March 2025 - Citizenship Applications

I've written this here many times - but I see zero evidence to suggest that when call centre people say something is 'not started' that it is meaningful in any way. It doesn't seem to match reality or the GCMS notes. [Editadd for clarity] It clearly does NOT mean that LPP has not been started...

Medical Exam when extend to stay after PR application

Tuberculosis. Note that even in that event, there are protocols (treatment basically) and it does not necessarily mean barred from entry or remaining.

New requirement to disclose travel history from birth ??

I can only state this: virtually everyone who applies interprets it in the more restrictive form (i.e. must disclose eg permanent resident status, long-term stays such as longer-term work permits, study permits, and of course citizenship). 1) And I have not seen ANY reports here of IRCC coming...

Nexus Card as a Travel Document

There's no clear answer to what you're asking. IMO, a Nexus card is not a travel document, so I think you're okay on the main part of this (did you provide what was required). Will it help / does CBSA capture the info under PR card only (is it linked properly) / does it match what the USA has...

Clarification on open work permit for spousal application

Not family sponsorship. Post in the relevant part of the forum.

    March 2025 - Citizenship Applications

Yes. They'll all basically proceed to final stage no faster than the slowest one. While no-one can say for sure that it is in fact ready etc., yes, it's possible that's the issue and it's being held up. You can request to split them, there seems to be no defined practice or experience on how...

    Pr application

You'll need to get the child a Canadian passport by applying for a citizenship certificate. Someone here wrote a guide on this - which isn't official but seems correct in the main. YMMV...

    Spousal sponsorship

Probably soon but I've no idea about specifics (and I don't follow what's covered on the PR tracker side).

    April 2025 - Citizenship Applications

Yes. Honestly I suspect it's primarily to give staff time to update the info, but only guesses. Anyway - IRCC does say it takes them a few days for the certificate to be valid for purposes of applying for a passport. If one wants to try, it's fine, but it may not work.

    April 2025 - Citizenship Applications

The standard statement you will be told at the ceremony is that you must wait 2-3 business days. That said: no harm in trying but if you apply right away for passport, you could be told to wait. I believe the only delay is for the staff to input (confirm) that oath was administered, i.e. for...

    Spousal sponsorship

Once a PR, one can apply immediately and get coverage. (Yes they've been a bit odd about how they announce this but waiver still in effect AFAIK)

Working in USA while on OINP PR and residing in Windsor, Ontario

Suggest you post in the provincial nominations forum - it will mostly boil down to whether all the info you provide (or is provided on your behalf) is truthful, and whether you live up to any specific requirements under the program you apply under...

Dual Citizenship Issues on Marriage Certificate

Yes, I think you're overthinking it.

Dual Citizenship Issues on Marriage Certificate

I may not be understanding what you're saying - but point what out? That it's the same person? That it was usning your Chinese documents? The first should hopefully be clear (and pointing it out would be odd, because if a different person, well, not eligible), the second is, well, screamingly...

    March 2025 - Citizenship Applications

Thanks - this is definitely pretty recent and I was surprised to see this detail - even though I'm still not sure exactly what it means. -Total waiting 283k - seems to just mean how many applications received (accepted?) that are still pending. (It doesn't change with which month you choose)...
