    May 2025 - Citizenship Applications

Same situation as many of us here — no officer assigned seems to be the issue. I wonder if it’s because they need to review our background check, or is it just an administrative error/slowdown.

Your information about storage is not true. PM03 and PM01 are government pay tiers. Read: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/transparency/committees/secu-september-19-2024/citizenship.html In general if your officer is PM03 it indicates more scrutiny. I am in...

    April 2025 - Citizenship Applications

It’s true in a way but it’s negligible, when you have an active request (before it’s returned to you) they cannot process your application beyond certain points, but when they are not working on it anyways, it doesn’t matter. It also doesn’t matter if they are already working on it but not yet...

    April 2025 - Citizenship Applications

Yes my file is PM01 review ready but no officer assigned, they received my stuff from CSIS but have not marked my background as complete yet

Same, have you requested GCMS notes from CBSA?

    May 2025 - Citizenship Applications

Nope, but it seems like it’s one of the common reasons of being stuck: nobody is even working on our files

What does it say under “APPLICATION ASSIGNMENT”? Is there an officer?

    May 2025 - Citizenship Applications

Agree with them being useless, they know even less than the average person in this thread and even sometimes lie. The notes are the only source of truth. It’s probably better to order notes from CBSA as soon as possible to know what’s going on. Although it probably doesn’t help, my conclusion...

On the same boat, Aug 30 was only ghost update for you?

    Grant review ready pm01

You cannot apply reason to IRCC, it is one of the most incompetent government agencies. They may do another security for no reason, or they may have just forgotten about your file (many such cases!). I have been in Canada for 10 years and they have already received my results from CSIS on Aug...

    Grant review ready pm01

Is this from CBSA or IRCC? I recommend not requesting from IRCC because they are slower and redact extra information. Either way, if it’s redacted, it means your background is in process, and you might be under some more intensive check. Due date means nothing, seems like my issue is different...

    Grant review ready pm01

Does your GCMS say anything on APPLICATION ASSIGNMENT? Mine is empty and I figured that it’s possible the previous officer just left my file aside. There’s no accountability at all in this process.

    Grant review ready pm01

Same here — background has security in progress but the sub activity of CIT CSIS already shows “Received” If so many people have the same issue but there is no commonality then the most plausible explanation is they simply forgot about our application… May 2025 applicant

    February 2025 - Citizenship Applications

I am in the same situation, May applicant, only difference is my review is PM01. I suggest you start a new thread/post for this to see how many people are stuck here. It seems like they have already concluded the least intensive search but there’s something for them to review/they simply forgot...

If you request through privacy act, it costs 0, and requesting through CBSA is faster, frequently resulting in more complete information too.

Test Completed But BACKGROUND CHECK in progress.

CIT CSIS Screening Status: Received Validity date: censored, but can see there is an entry Status Updated Date: 2025/08/28 I guess I’m just unlucky and didn’t get the auto pass My thoughts: validity date being there indicates they have already finished work on it, and if there is a red flag...

    May 2025 - Citizenship Applications

Got my GCMS notes CIT CSIS Screening started (edit: “received”) Aug 28 Status for screening says “received” so I guess my file will be stuck forever Very weird stuff, will apply for CSIS notes too Update: seems like “received” means they have already received results from CSIS? If that’s the...

    May 2025 - Citizenship Applications

Funny that they define a routine application as something that’s within the normal timeline — it only becomes non routine if it exceeds, as if it’s not related to their procedures itself. Either way today I learned my PO is Vancouver, could be why it is so bad. Still waiting for GCMS.

I don’t think it can be extensive if it’s randomly selected. I was born in China and never been to anywhere other than Canada since I was a teenager. If they randomly select people it’s more likely for process quality assurance reasons, same with random interviews.
