Yes you are right, i had experienced that background check done soon after biometrics. Don't knw what's going on. I recently checked many forums didn't get any logic why this is happening, just got one thing from different news and froums that ircc have backlog. This can be the only reason -

Exact Same scenario with me regardless biometrics. Biometrics was on 2nd june. Update in ircc portal on 3rd june. But in tracker it is showing in progress. No other activity rather than background check in progress. -
