Can I Mail PR Card Abroad for Re-entry to Canada?

    You are, as per usual...correct.:)

    Inland Spouse Sponsorship Under Policy

You do not `apply under public policy'. This is a policy that waives the requirement for legal status for an Inland (SCPLC) applicant, but it is not an absolute guarantee; a person without status can still be removed from Canada. Suggest she does all she can to restore her status, unless it's...

    Inland Spouse Sponsorship Under Policy

    1. Not if submitting an INLAND application, as the Public Policy that waives the requirement of legal status does not apply to an Outland applicant. 2. Ideally, she should apply to restore her status just for peace of mind! 3. Not certain. 4. Perhaps. Hopefully you have solid evidence of a...

Rejected Super visa -- proof of insurance and status for host

Does your mother have strong ties to where is living? Unless there was a requirement for you to provide evidence of your PR status (which a PR Card is NOT, automatically) I suspect they could have seen if your status was in fact valid.

Verification Of Status (Before Returning To Canada)

Not sure of those days would be counted towards R.O., during the wait for the hearing.

Verification Of Status (Before Returning To Canada)

You've already received sound advice from others, so I'll contribute as well: IMHO, applying for VOS (being ~ 13 years in breach of meeting the required Residency Obligation to maintain PR status)...is risky. You left Canada when you were age 6, so, at best, by age 9 you started to be in breach...

Are credit card transactions and airline tickets enough to prove physical presence?

I,personally, believe that CBSA Entry/Exit data is the most important evidence. Banking/credit card activity that shows transactions `in-person' and in Canada by YOU, not anyone else that has authority on your account to do so (i.e. a joint account), would also be good evidence. Here's one, of...

Documents to prove permanent residency obligations?

Just two pieces of evidence are required, so...just two bank statements. Might be better to provide one and something completely different.

    Mothers long stay abroad

Even if the card has expired, she would still be allowed to enter Canada. Not having a valid card could be an issue for a commercial carrier, however.

Jun 09 - PR card renewal delay

No. You only really `need' a valid PR Card to return to Canada via a commercial carrier (unless you hold a valid U.S. Passport). Your expired PR Card (or anything that CBSA can use to verify your PR status) is all you need to enter Canada.

Clarification for Outland vs Inland Application and what is next best step after mistake?

This is the Inland application. Hopefully you were able to reach someone at IRCC! Good luck!

Moving to Canada from US with PR

You will [likely] know if a 44(1) report is written. This is what could lead to PR status being revoked. You would be able to remain in Canada pending your hearing, so long as you are not deemed to be inadmissible to Canada (i.e. criminality).

Got invited to apply for family sponsorship today, but found out that Quebec no longer accepts undertakings??

What is your status in Canada (PR or citizen)? If you are a PR...under which program did you apply for and obtain your PR? If is was through PNP, you may have issues leaving Quebec.

    IMM5708- Restoration of Status Questions

Because you mention that your are being sponsored by your Canadian partner, do you have solid evidence of meeting the Common-Law requirement for sponsorship? 1. Tell IRCC that you are restoring your status to be able to apply for Inland sponsorship, even though legal status is not a requirement...

PR CARD RENEWAL APPLICATIONS JULY 2025

You were only required to provide two pieces of evidence of residing in Canada during the 5 year assessment window. For example, #2 and #3 satisfied that requirement. CBSA records, which IRCC has access to (with or without the permission of the PR), is by far the biggest factor in assessment.

Commonlaw Visa - 23 day interruption okay?

https://www.irb-cisr.gc.ca/en/legal-policy/legal-concepts/Documents/SpoPar05_e.pdf From page 17: Cohabitation is not defined in the IRPA or the IRP Regulations but has been interpreted in the common law to mean “living together as husband and wife.” 88 The IAD has adopted this definition as...

    Residency obligations for PR renewal

I, for one, think that CBSA records (which IRCC has access to) is by far the most important evidence of R.O. compliance. Because of this, people are successful when providing only 2 pieces of `proof', such as a bank statement from nearly five years ago and something much more recent with that...

Queries related to Form IMM5444 for PR renewal card

I guess it comes down to if you truly were `living' there, if you still maintained your residence in Canada. If you take a 3 month cruise...are you living on the ship?
