    Don't know how soon you are going to leave Canada. But before you go, you could also change your name in Canada and the name in your PR card too. Afterwards, you can have same names in both your passport and PR card on your return from your home country...

    Special discounts tickets are most likely non refundable. You shouldn't buy them before your Canadian visa is approved because it's not required (as opposed to applying for Schengen visa).

    You can probably keep your US job (ex. in Detroit) while at the same time immigrating to Canada (ex. residence in Windsor). Many people commute from one country to another.
