2023 PR Applications Timeline (Protected Persons & Refugees)

As I have been saying for a long time Canada opened their doors to many asylum seekers and refugees but the consequence is that there is now a very large number applying for PR and a much smaller yearly quota. The processing time to get PR will likely continue to get longer at least for the next...

Likely more accurate processing times with this new update. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/check-processing-times.html

    2024 PR Application timeline

Not an error. If you have been monitoring the data there is a huge backlog of protected people and refugees and a yearly PR quota that is much smaller. Glad IRCC now has realistic processing times which I have been telling people are going to continue to get much longer.

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

The issue is the volume of applicants and limited PR quota allocation. Canada has had a huge surge of immigration over the past 5+ years and this H&C mess is one of the consequences. Most who don’t have another pathway to PR are filing H&C.

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

You can put in your application date and it will show how long you will still have to wait to be processed.

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

Publishing more accurate processing times are partially meant to try to encourage applicants to consider other options. H&C does not prevent removal so many will be removed during the processing period unless a decision is imminent. That said the program is such a mess the only option may be to...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

There will be reforms to this program because it is no longer functional. An H&C application also does not prevent removal. As I have mentioned numerous times people need a plan b. Would suggest learning French, doing another degree, looking at NOCs in demand in Canada, etc. To get PR in Canada...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

Sadly I was right which was clear if you have been monitoring the data and processing times experienced by current applicants.

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

Most are not even getting AIP by 31 months so I would suggest focusing on the processing times of applicants waiting versus posted processing times by IRCC that are often not in line with current reality.

    Quebec ppr

Prearrival doesn’t actually mean your application is completed. It is an administrative step that is sent sometime after eligibility. The name creates confusion.

Visitor Visa Refusal - Strong Profile but Denied for 'Ties' and 'Purpose'. Advice Needed!

Traveling to Canada is expensive so people don’t just decide to visit from halfway across the world without doing some significant research in advance. Your lack of knowledge about why you want to visit just highlights concerns that you are likely not a genuine visitor.

    EMPP with Job offer

There are 2500 cases in processing while Canada plans to accept 300 this year. Depending on when you applied processing may be extremely long. I would also be exploring other options.

US-American transgender high school student, what are my options?

Do you know French or will you be willing to dedicate a lot of time to learning French? If not Quebec probably not the best option. Learning French should still be something you may need to do. Tough to anticipate immigration policies so far in advance but would suggest studying a skill that is...

    Supervisa insurance with heart condition

Likely not. Most use similar actuarial models. If they did cover it the cost would be extremely high.
