    There is no need to apply for a visitor record now they have a 5 year visit. They can apply right before the 5 year period ends as long as they have been able and purchased supervisa insurance annually.

    High rate of JRs in general when it comes to all forms of immigration (temporary and permanent). It is taking over a year to get a JR heard these days. That is not a functional system.

    He can’t apply to extend his supervisa unless outside of Canada. He can attempt to extend his stay as a visitor. These are 2 different things. As long as he retains status his PGP is fine. As a visitor he should have a home to return to if the visitor record extension is denied or PGP is refused.
