    I understood that but whether a study permit remains valid until the end of the expiry date also depends on whether you me the terms of the study permit before it expired. If she was not meeting the terms her study permit could have ended earlier. When did she actually stop studying?

    Your spouse may want to return home because there is an up to 3 month wait period once she gets PR to get access to provincial healthcare. When she returns she should purchase private insurance and look at the fine print about what is covered.
