Spousal Sponsorship- Family Class- After PR EE

I've not seen yet the scenario where someone after landing is accused of misrepresentation or received PFL for then deciding to sponsor a non-accompanying family member. If there are such cases, please share. What we have seen more of - definitely - is reports of IRCC basically not allowing /...

    January 2025 - Citizenship Applications

It does say one guest but I can't possibly imagine they would turn away a spouse with an infant. My spouse has attended a couple ceremonies - I don't recall any mention of them being strict or twits about it. I'll ask but I'd say just go for it. Raise a stink and complain if they don't agree...

CSIS and CBSA notes for Background Check

It took 30 days for each. Sometimes they will delay for an additional 30 days (notifying you). Some get longer delays - I've never had any problem. Government states quite clearly it won't delay, it's done by different teams. Small note of importance: keep in mind it is QUITE difficult to...

    April 2025 - Citizenship Applications

Quite a bit of variability but lately most have, I think, been seeing the oath date several weeks (min) after the oath date appears on the tracking portal. Someone else recently got one that conflicted with a trip, and responded right away with request for a new date - and got the new date a...

    March 2025 - Citizenship Applications

FYI for others - another thing that I think is a red herring in discussion of files and info one gets from the call centre people, the "Vancouver office" - as far as I can tell, lately anyway, Vancouver seems to be the primary office for most citizenship apps, and they seem to be responsible for...

    March 2025 - Citizenship Applications

I personally think that in reality there is no meaningful difference between not started and in progress. They're both simplifications, and I suspect in practice they're identical - that is, 'not started' doesn't actually mean that, it's a flag marked that way in the notes the call centre agent...

CSIS and CBSA notes for Background Check

I recently applied for gcms notes on a citizenship app from both CBSA and IRCC. I recommend doing this for those whose files are stuck for a long time. While I didn't learn anything earth-shattering, it did clarify some aspects. Here's why I point this out though: IRCC and CBSA have similar...

    January 2025 - Citizenship Applications

Read the instructions on the passport office location where you intend to apply, as they sometimes change the specifics. In general for next-day: yes, including something like booked tickets showing departure soon. There are other options though of what can be shown.

    Domestic Passport

If they don't ask for your national ID/internal ID of foreign countries, you don't need to provide.

    Dependent Child Sponsorship -2024

There's frequently a delay of 2-7 days before one can access the tracking.

Citizenship Ceremony with kids - Zoom Log in?

I'd suggest waiting and reading the instructions when you get them (I'm assuming you've not, because they don't use zoom, IIRC).

PFL- failing to declare previous TRV refusal

There's no particularly good answer. Just tell the truth and keep it simple, whether it's just oversight or I read quickly or whatever.

Can dependent land alone after main applicant short landing?

Yes, as long as she lands first, and your father arrives before the COPR expires. The medical expiration is no longer relevant (save for IRCC internally). Note though, best he not leave it to the very last day.

I don't even understand your question.

    March 2025 - Citizenship Applications

Within reason, expired passports can sometimes be accepted as ID, just like an expired PR card - note, in that they identify who one is with a photograph and NOT as proof of their 'current status.'

    Spousal sponsorship

Don't know but I'd assume this is the spot for upload.

Question about spouse sponsorship and low income assistance

I don't understand - surely if she's not living in Canada and the children aren't yours and aren't PRs themselves, they simply aren't eligible?

    AUGUST 2025 - CITIZENSHIP APPLICATIONS

You did post in the citizenship group but posted in 5+ threads. Just post once or twice and wait. The instructions repeated exactly what everyone and I have said. Repeating so it's clear: it's not a question (directly) of what language the certificates are in, but that it is stated clearly what...
