    March 2025 - Citizenship Applications

All govt emails from accounts like this are bilingual - and as you can see it has English too. Not specific to Quebec at all.

    Family and Friends know relationship

Use your judgment. There's lots you can include to reduce necessity of all this other stuff. Yes, for those married with kids for years - eg photo of an anniversary party with family and cousins etc may do it. (Why get letters if they obviously are all at your family events?) Also: read the...

    Spousal sponsorship

Screenshots somehow compiled on a single page for space, from one spouse okay - obviously assuming the other was responding.

    Online vs Paper applications

Probably. Seems now that almost all applicants have moved to online, so we may not even have enough info to get reliable guesses.

    Online passport renewal

I don't know about the extra $45. When renewing abroad, they typically let you keep/use your existing passport until the new one arrives, because they know most countries require a foreigner in the country to have a valid passport (and visa if needed). And also emergency travel, I guess. I...

    April 2025 - Citizenship Applications

I'm not really worried whether anyone wants to dsclose in more detail than I think is necessary. It is just my opinion. But as for the misrepresentation aspect: there is a basic background concept here of materiality. I'm not going to try to write an academic law textbook chapter on this, so...

    October 2024 - Citizenship Applications

Often it's the opposite order. No-one will know the exact timeframe. But it should be fairly quick (week or so?).

    December 2024 - Citizenship Applications

Sometimes communications from IRCC come in different order than expected. Wait a few days, maybe a few more since weekend - the oath in tracker and invitation are likely coming soon enough.

    Online passport renewal

I believe it's best to leave it blank.

    Online passport renewal

Check carefully. I believe the online renewal is only for those physically in Canada. There are also other eligibility requirements. 2. Don't know. 3. I think parents are entered separately? 4. Of course not.

PR Card renewal time line March 2025 - delay in printing/mailing the card

It seems for many that are applying with sufficient days in Canada / in compliance, they get their card back before the system even gets updated. I'd say wait until one month after you applied.

    lost status

Fair point. If you get a PRTD with the RC-1 code, you can apply for a PR card without serious concern that there will be a problem.

Expired PR card crossing borders and CBSA asked to contact IRCC

I am not the person. I think if you read above you will see some updates.

Lawyer said we no longer together and she instructed our office to withdraw her sponsorship application and the sponsorship undertaking.

This really gets into your issues with your spouse and we can't help with that. That said, the basic question is you're being told by the lawyer that the sponsorship was stopped / withdrawn. It's either true or it's not. Obviously you can try IRCC as well.

Address Discrepancy on Tax Returns vs. Citizenship Application

No, you're right, I should have been clear that the OP may have responsibilities / need to update with CRA, and I do not know about those - I was only speaking about the IRCC part. I do suspect that apart from the province part - although some other cases like northern/rural where benefits...

Lawyer said we no longer together and she instructed our office to withdraw her sponsorship application and the sponsorship undertaking.

I am guessing the 'stopping me' part referred to somehow limiting access of the poster to family law i.e. outside scope of the immigration issue. Which I suppose could be something sponsor is doing (not tellng full truth about the immigration situation) to muddy the waters. Not something on...

Lawyer said we no longer together and she instructed our office to withdraw her sponsorship application and the sponsorship undertaking.

I believe the principal applicant can remove the lawyer from representing the PA, but not from representing the sponsor. Don't know for certain though it should be possible, indeed, the lawyer should remove themselves from that part of the representation w/IRCC.

Address Discrepancy on Tax Returns vs. Citizenship Application

I leave the question of whether you need to update the addresses from past etc. My point again is I don't think IRCC is going to be looking at the addresses, their purposes are different when checking tax filings for citzienship - i.e. did the person file as required.
