    Birth Certificate Spouse - India

I don't know what advice you're looking for beyond ... apply for the long-form birth certificate.

    February 2025 - Citizenship Applications

Obviously for those who never gave or had very old or invalid ones, you can expect they would request. But I don't think that's the full story, seems they may indeed do some random at least. There seem to be more requests than that. This may be an audit type thing, where they sample some to...

IMM 5406 rejected twice and I am lost

I repeat though: you MUST include all of them on the 5406 (additional family information). You can include the 20 year old on the IMM0008 as non-accompanying, and they will have to do the medical. The two under-age Canadian citizens should not, I believe, be on the IMM0008 (but to be honest...

    Marriage certificate error

I should have said too: it's possible that IRCC will accept the application (you'll get AOR) but then ask you to send a revised marriage certificate. This is why important to do the process of getting a revised one - just in case.

IMM 5406 rejected twice and I am lost

You misunderstood and did it wrong then. It means that children older than 18 (and not citizens and PRs) have to submit forms as well. You must list your children on this form - all of them, regardless of status. (Is the wording confusing? Sure. Complain to IRCC).

They select only some. Whether random or not, no idea.

Renewing PR Card online - but it's asking for a common law stat?

    1. I would click no, it's not a material thing so don't even think about the misrepresentation aspect. 2. I don't think this is relevant if you put no as answer to first. But not certain.

    Secondary review

Yes, you can also do it yourself through government, where it will either be free or cost $5. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/transparency/access-information-privacy/requests-information-act.html

IMM 5406 rejected twice and I am lost

They absolutely must be on the 'additional family information' form (and any other children ether of you may have had). If you did not include them as 'dependants' on the main form (despite instructions not to include Canadian citizens), I'd add the there too - since it got rejected.

    January 2025 - Citizenship Applications

I should have noted, a few cases have come up here of the FP results 'not getting' to IRCC, or not being sent properly, or whatever. I'd be more inclined to check the FP status. Esp since your PCC was received. I don't recall what they did, called RCMP or IRCC or what exactly.

    January 2025 - Citizenship Applications

They are unfortunately (across all kinds of apps) terrible at updating these fields on the trackers - sometimes they just don't do it until a subsequent stage or even the very end. I wouldn't blame you for calling and checking but probably not necessary.

    Marriage certificate error

While I think you should go about getting it fixed, I disagree on point above - I believe this error is not sufficiently material that IRCC would return the application. The identification of the parents on a wedding certificate is not consistent between jurisdictions (eg Ontario does record...

    May 2025 - Citizenship Applications

While youtube videos and the like can be useful, there's really no substitute for going through the forms and reading hte instructions.

Inland or Outland? Canadian sponsor, PA is on student visa and OWP

Can do either inland or outland. In my view there are few advantages now to inland (except some specific situations which are not most common). I don't see any reason for them to delay applying.

Urgent Return to Canada with Newborn: Immigration Choices for PR Holders

Either really, hard for anyone to guess. Personally I'd consider applying for child's TRV immediately, and then you return to Canada (without delay) and then submit PR app. If that TRV is delayed or refusd, apply once AOR is received. Note, there's no such thing as 'inland' for dependent...

    November 2024 - Citizenship Applications

The invitation letter will provide info on how to request changes if you wish. I have no idea if it will be faster (although I doubt it, it's just my guess). Entirely up to you, don't think it's a question of advisable, no harm no benefit really. (Except you get the nice printed certificate)

    Online passport renewal

Ah yes I'd only ever done in places when I could just come in but that was in the 'before times.' Makes sense they basically just do it as you say (basically by courier).

    Background check stuck

Usually being asked to redo the medical does mean that they are mostly ready/preparing to issue the final decision - and probably that other parts are okay. It's not a guarantee though.
