    The issue is they never settled out of Quebec. Impossible to say if IRCC will ever pursue people if they misrepresented that they would not settle in Quebec. If they had moved back to Quebec that would likely be fine but they never left so didn’t actually qualify to land as PR through EE.

    What is status in Canada? A visitor? On a supervisa? If so is he compliant with the annual supervisa insurance requirement? When does the visit expire? Processing for H&C for most is now multiple years with no guarantee of approval. He may be denied because of the high cost of his medical care...

    You and your spouse also likely need to reapply or apply for OHIP again if you applied already. Any emergency travel medical policy should be fine for the first few months.

    Not the case. Once you receive AOR for the PR applicant should be able to get OHIP as long as you will remain in Ontario for the next 5 out of 6 months and 6 months out of the 1st year.

    First zero guarantees he will get approved and could take years to get processed. You need to be making other plans to either seek care in home country or pay for care if available in Canada as a foreign national and if you have the funds.

    Inlaws are not ties. How old are your children? You can’t sponsor someone for a TRV. You have to show you have ties to your home country (job, property, spouse/dependent children, etc), liquid funds, travel history, etc.

    At this point people applying in 2025 are going to be waiting for years for response about AIP then they’ll likely add a JR as IRCC tries to reject more applications. The insanity continues. Landing after AIP is taking around a year now which is only going to get longer.
