Hi Masterfire.

I just came across a YouTube video posted by: Canadian immigration institute - how to prove funds. Although titled E.E., you may find it useful. It explained gifting money to support proof of funds for visa application.

Unless you have sponsorship from someone who is having a high enough income, where they can support you in Canada and they have bank statements to show such amount. You would have to produce official documents saying that this person is sponsoring you.

In any other case you will have to show the full amount for the best chance of getting a visa approval.
Hello
I am going to apply for a study permit next month
My doubt is regarding the financial proof documents
I will be taking an education loan for funding my tuition fees and living expense for the two years course
Also, my and my father's bank accounts don't have a lot of money in them. Maybe v have maintained around 4000-5000 CAD for the past 6 months. V both are salaried employees.
So,
1. Is a loan sanction letter enuf to show as financial proof
2. What exactly does the VO check for in bank statements?
3. Do v need to have and maintain a certain amount of money in our bank accounts for the past 4 months?
4. Do bank statements become a necessary criteria for evaluation even after submitting a loan sanction letter?

1. If that letter confirms that you have received the loan the yes.
2. Bank statements is when you don't have loan and need to show proof of finance.
3. Only if you are showing bank account as financial proof
4. A loan should be enough, as long as it covers all of your expenses.

A few more questions:
1. I will be anyways attaching the bank statements to show that as salaried employees we received a steady income even tho at the moment we don't have much money in our bank (due to a recent investment). Do u think this is ok?
2. Do I have to submit my and my father's and my mother's bank statements? Everyone's?

You need to submit financial proof that covers the amount that you have stated as your total expenses in your application form. You can submit additional financial proofs if you want to. You have to consult your Application guide for your country to see what proofs are required for salaried persons, if any.
